On 2 Mar 06 Lt. Wilson conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle he observed traveling 41 mph in a 20 mph
school zone on State Route 339 in Barlow Township. A check
of the driver, Andrew P. Daugherty, age 27, 3346 Layman Road,
Vincent, returned an active warrant out of Indiana for passing
a bad check and also that Mr. Daugherty’s license is
indefinitely suspended in Indiana under the classification
of being a felony hazardous traffic offender. As a result,
Lt. Wilson arrested Mr. Daugherty and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.
On 2 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole conducted
a traffic stop on State Route 555 after observing a truck travel
left of the centerline. As he spoke to the driver outside the
vehicle Deputy Stackpole noticed odd behavior on the part of
the passenger, Robert L. Joseph, age 46, Route 1 Box 240, Belleville,
WV. Granted permission to search the truck by the driver, Deputy
Stackpole located marijuana in a bag of Bugler tobacco. Mr.
Joseph claimed ownership of the marijuana and also indicated
he stuffed a marijuana pipe in his pants. As a result, Deputy
Stackpole arrested Mr. Joseph for possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Eric Hoffert, age 23, 1030 Market
Street, Parkersburg, for theft and failure to appear, both
misdemeanors. Hoffert was picked up in Belpre by Patrolman
McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 06 at 4:35 am.
Andrew Perry Daugherty, age 27, 3346 Layman
Road, Vincent, for a misdemeanor charge of operating without
a license and for being a fugitive from justice. Daugherty
was arrested on Sweet Apple road in Vincent by Lt. Wilson of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 Mar 06 at 4:11 pm.
Robert Lee Joseph, age 46, Route 1 Box 240, Belleville, WV,
for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs,
both misdemeanors. Joseph was arrested on State Route 555 by
Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 2 Mar 06 at 7:06 pm.
