On 1 Mar 06 a seventeen year old Warren High
School student reported while she attended band practice between
11 am and 1:30 pm her Motorola Razr cell phone was stolen from
her purse that she left in the band room. This case remains
under investigation (1090).
On 1 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Eddy responded
to a report from a driver stating they were following a Chevy
Lumina on State Route 60 and that the car was weaving all over
the road. While en route Deputy Eddy spotted the suspect vehicle
at the Duke station in Lowell and stopped to speak with the
driver. Seeing Deputy Eddy coming, Kenneth D. Siders, age 57,
727 Sixth Street, Marietta, attempted unsuccessfully to hide
an empty and a nearly empty bottle of vodka in his coat. Mr.
Siders freely admitted he had been drinking and would not be
ably to pass field sobriety tests. Nonetheless, Deputy Eddy
administered the tests, on which Mr. Siders performed poorly.
In consequence, Deputy Eddy arrested Mr. Siders for OVI and
transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Mar 06 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued a
citation to Kelley A. Myers, age 28, 64 Terri Lane, Little
Hocking, for traveling 62 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Parks
stopped Ms. Myers on State Route 7 near County Road 51 in Dunham
Township.
On 1 Mar 06 Detective Sirianni was called
to Frontier High School to investigate drug activity involving
a sixteen year old student. The New Matamoras resident admitted
to the principal that he stole some of his mother’s pain
pills and ingested them. When the principal then told the student
he was calling the juvenile’s probation officer the teenager
fled the scene, absconding into a wooded area. At this time
the juvenile’s whereabouts remain unknown.
On 1 Mar 06 Alva J. Watson, age 32, 2600 Glendale
Road, Marietta, reported while he was away from his home on
vacation between 16 and 22 Feb an unknown suspect forcibly
entered the residence and stole a Compaq laptop computer from
his bedroom and a diamond wedding ring from next to the kitchen
sink. This case remains under investigation (501).
On 1 Mar 06 Steven J. Grady, age 40, 54 High
Street, Vincent, reported a large quantity of tools, including
two drills, a reciprocating saw, sockets and a woodcrafter
set were stolen from his work truck during the overnight hours.
This case remains under investigation (1020).
On 1 Mar 06 an employee of Byer’s Exxon,
26960 State Route 7, Marietta, reported the driver of a red
Chevy Cavalier drove off without paying for $20.02 in gasoline.
This case remains under investigation (1020).
On 1 Mar 06 Eric W. Sydenstricker, age 27,
906 Hocking Road, Belpre, reported an eighteen foot enclosed
utility trailer was stolen from his residence around the first
week of February. Mr. Sydenstricker stated he believes the
trailer’s former owner took the vehicle because he was
unhappy with his portion of a trade in which the two engaged
in October of last year. This case remains under investigation
(1090).

Craig E. Moultry, age 30, 19 Carpenter Street
Apt. 210, Athens, for OVI and for driving under a suspended
license on 14 Feb 06.
William J. Beaver, age 52, 1329 Allendale
Avenue, Akron, for failing to appear for pretrial on 15 Feb
06.
Corey J. Hartline, age 22, 305 Burt Street, Sistersville,
WV, for the theft of $100 on 16 Dec 05 and telephone harassment
on 22 Dec 05.
Matthew B. Pelfrey, age 27, 19377 State Route 279, Oak Hill,
OH, for the theft of $10.02 in gas from BP on 18 Jan 06.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Joseph Paul Smith, age 20, 827 St Marys Avenue,
Marietta, for driving under a suspended license and for improper
display of headlights, both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 06 at 1:35 am.
James Preston Kilkenny, age 25, 1609 Hill
Street Apt. 3, Belpre, for operating without or with an expired
license, a misdemeanor. Kilkenny was arrested at his residence
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Mar 06 at 10:02 am.
William Joseph Dawson, age 22, 4655 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre,
for theft and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Dawson was arrested at
his residence by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar
06 at 1:50 pm.
Kenneth Dale Siders, age 56, 727 Sixth Street, Marietta, for
.17 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Siders was arrested at the Duke
station in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 06 at 3:15 pm.
