On 12 Feb 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a
citation to Joshua D. Snyder, age 23, 25380 Brimstone Road,
Coolville, for traveling 80 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Evans
stopped Mr. Snyder on State Route 7 near the intersection of
State Route 124 in Belpre Township.
On 12 Feb 06 a thirty-eight year old Marietta
resident reported being assaulted by his sixteen year old stepdaughter.
After he forbade the teenager to use the phone to call a hotline
the victim stated his stepdaughter flew into a fit of rage,
cursing at him and her mother. When he attempted to spank the
juvenile she then proceeded to strike her stepfather across
the face. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Parks arrested the sixteen
year old for being delinquent and transported her to the Washington
County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 12 Feb 06, investigating a noise complaint,
Deputy Sheriff Parks spoke to several subjects at a home on
County House Lane and noticed and odor of alcohol. Sean C.
Wright, age 20, 312 East Spring Street, Marietta, and a seventeen
year old partygoer admitted consuming alcohol, albeit a small
quantity. Citing the blood alcohol content registered on a
portable test machine, Deputy Parks arrested Mr. Wright for
underage consumption and transported him to the Washington
County Jail while he issued a summons to the seventeen year
old to appear in Juvenile Court and released her to her mother’s
custody.
On 12 Feb 06 a fifty-two year old Beverly
resident reported her sixteen year old granddaughter, of whom
she has custody, left the home without permission, taking the
family vehicle. The juvenile was later located at a friend’s
home in Marysville and returned to her grandmother’s
custody. Punitively, Deputy Sheriff Parks requested a summons
for the teenager to appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
On 12 Feb 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins observed
that the vehicle following him southbound on State Route 60
was intermittently flashing its headlights before turning into
the parking lot of Quimby’s Bar. Deputy Mankins turned
around and followed the vehicle into the parking lot to offer
assistance. The driver, Charles R. Dupre, age 42, 31 River
Road, Waterford, stated he was experiencing electrical problems,
causing his lights to flash on and off. During this time Deputy
Mankins noticed an odor of alcohol on Mr. Dupre and requested
he perform field sobriety tests. Following Mr. Dupre’s
poor performance on the tests, Deputy Mankins arrested him
for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sean Cody Wright, age 20, 312 Spring Street, Marietta, for
underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Wright was
arrested on County Nine Road by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Feb 06 at 12:37 am.
Merle Mark Harris, age 46, 109 Creel Street, St Marys, for
OVI, speeding and for driving left of center, all misdemeanors.
Harris was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12
Feb 06 at 5:13 am.
Mindy Michelle Omear, age 26, 502 Broadway Avenue, New Matamoras,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Omear was arrested at
her residence by Chief Travaglio of the New Matamoras Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Feb 06 at 7:16 am.
Lee Anna Newbanks, age 23, 7923 Veto Road, Belpre, for failure
to appear and for violating the terms of her probation, both
misdemeanors. Newbanks was arrested at her residence by Sgt.
Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Feb 06 at 10:30 am.
Roger W. Burkhart Sr., age 39, 565 Goose Run Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Burkhart
was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Feb 06 at 11:33 am.
Charles Rex Dupre, age 42, 31 River Road,
Waterford, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Dupre was arrested in Beverly
by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12
Feb 06 at 11:06 pm.
