On 5 Feb 06 Mary L. Adkins, age 38, 11913 ½ Clay
Pike Road, Buffalo, OH, who is an inmate at the Washington
County Jail, reported a problem with a phone card she purchased
through the jail’s commissary. Upon further investigation
Corrections Officer Farrell determined inmate Teresa Russell,
age 42, 1421 Lancaster Street Apt. 100K, Marietta, accrued
$6.89 in charges on the $10 card. Ms. Adkins claimed her use
of the card was unintentional but nonetheless was issued a
summons to appear in court for theft.
On 5 Feb 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes observed
a vehicle traveling left of the centerline, completely in the
opposite lane on Waterford Road in Waterford and conducted
a traffic stop. Detecting an odor of alcohol on the driver,
David M. Knoch, age 25, 316 Olloch Road, Lowell, Deputy Rhodes
administered field sobriety tests. Succeeding Mr. Knoch’s
poor performance on the tests Deputy Rhodes arrested him for
OVI and driving left of center and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 5 Feb 06 Denise Tessum, age 52, 4882 Tick
Ridge Road, Vincent, reported the individual with whom she
and her husband entered a contract for home repairs has yet
to complete any work or purchase material for the repairs.
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 5 Feb 06 Brian L. Hall, age 29, 554 Arrowhead
Road, Little Hocking, struck a guardrail on the bridge over
State Route 339 on US 50. Likely the result of inclement road
conditions, Mr. Hall’s Dodge Dakota sustained disabling
damage. He reported no injuries (597).
On 5 Feb 06 Pebble M. Kinney, age 20, Aldon
Gage Road, Cutler, reported being in fear for safety after
being threatened by her father when she attempted to pick up
personal effects at his residence at 2315 Blue Knob Road, Marietta.
Ms. Kinney recounted that her father Phillip W. Kinney, age
50, began cussing and yelling, claiming he was threatened.
As Ms. Kinney and her boyfriend were in their vehicle backing
out of the driveway, her father retrieved a rifle and pointed
it at them in the vehicle. As a result of Mr. Kinney’s
actions he was arrested for domestic violence and aggravated
menacing and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 5 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop near the Memorial Bridge in Belpre on a vehicle
he witnessed traveling 60 mph in a 50 mph zone. When questioned
on his state of intoxication, Dennis S. Marcinko, age 32, 1802
Tyree Boulevard, Racine, OH, admitted consuming five beers
that evening. Succeeding Mr. Marcinko’s poor performance
on field sobriety tests Deputy Rhodes arrested him for OVI
and speeding and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
With the assistance of Deputy Sheriff Parks and Patrolman Morris,
Deputy Rhodes searched the vehicle and located three pills
identified by the purse’s owner, Patricia A. Walker,
age 22, 35251 Pageville Road, Albany, OH, as Hydrocodone. Ms.
Walker confirmed the pills were hers and claimed they were
given to her by a friend to control her back pain. She was
arrested for possession of drugs and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 5 Feb 6 Detective Johnson began an investigation
into injuries suffered by Justin W. Barth, age 21, 299 County
Nine Road, Reno, when he was run over by a truck driven by
Richard V. Anderson, age 20, HC 88 Box 78, Stattsmill, WV.
Once he completed interviews with witnesses Detective Johnson
determined an argument transpired between Mr. Barth, who was
standing outside a truck, and the vehicle’s three occupants
along the roadway leading to Mr. Barth’s home. Fearing
the argument would escalate Mr. Anderson began to drive away,
not knowing Mr. Barth slipped under the truck and was run over.
Detective Johnson determined this incident was accidental;
Mr. Barth suffered only minor injuries.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Justin Michael Gossett, age 24, 407 Spring Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Gossett
was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Wenzel
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at 1:00 am.
David Martin Knoch, age 25, 316 Olloch Hill Road, Lowell,
for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Knoch was arrested on Waterford Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at
1:39 am.
Dennis Shane Marcinko, age 32, 1802 Tyree Boulevard, Racine,
OH, for .17 breath OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Marcinko was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at
4:34 am.
Patricia Ann Walker, age 22, 35251 Pageville Road, Albany,
OH, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Walker was arrested
on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at 5:20 am.
Phillip Wiley Kinney, age 50, 2315 Blue Knob Road, Marietta,
for aggravated menacing and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
Kinney was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at
4:10 pm.
Scott Allen Haney, age 31, 1111 Glendale Road, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Haney was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Douglas of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 Feb 06 at 4:35 pm.
Bernadette Elizabeth Frye, age 34, 5547 Walnut View Boulevard,
Gahanna, OH, for OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors. Frye
was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Feb 06 at
9:50 pm.
