On 1 Feb 06 Johnna K. Tuten, 120 Center Street,
Waterford, reported while her Mercury Cougar was parked at
the Lower Salem Post Office another vehicle struck the rear
fender on the driver’s side of her vehicle. The driver
of the suspect vehicle then left the scene without notifying
Mrs. Tuten. This incident remains under investigation (1091).
On 1 Feb 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a summons for Albert A. Campbell, age 25, PO Box 962, Grantsville,
WV, for theft. After being identified as the suspect Mr. Campbell
admitted stealing $342 worth of cigarettes from Par Mar in
Little Hocking.
On 1 Feb 06 an employee of Walsh Construction
reported during the previous night an unknown suspect(s) used
a pellet gun to shoot out the windows in a crane and a front
end loader at 3059 Washington Boulevard, Belpre. This case
remains under investigation (500).
On 1 Feb 06 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff
Day were dispatched to a home on Patten Mills Road in Stockport
after receiving a report from the home’s resident that
her brother was behaving erratically and threatening to kill
himself and the cops. Not willing to be transported for treatment,
the suspect fled to the home’s side yard. Before the
suspect could strike Deputy Day Lt. Canavan deployed his Taser
and subdued the suspect. He was then transported to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
On 1 Feb 06 a twenty-nine year old Marietta
resident reported several times during the past month her eleven
year old daughter has been unruly. The mother stated her daughter
took her cellular phone without permission, stole cigarettes
from her, has been violent with her siblings and has written
letters threatening to harm her. Due to the juvenile’s
habitual poor behavior Lt. Wilson requested a summons for the
eleven year old to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly.
On 1 Feb 06 Deputy Sheriff Mankins conducted
a traffic stop on State Route 26 after observing a vehicle
veer across the center of the roadway, almost causing it to
crash. Detecting an odor of alcohol on the driver, Michael
L. Roux, age 34, 506 Pike Street, Marietta, Deputy Mankins
requested he perform field sobriety tests. Following Mr. Roux’s
poor performance on the tests and also charged with operating
without a license, for failure to display license plates and
for driving left of center, he was arrested for OVI and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individual
wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Lee Roux, age 34, 506 Pike Street,
Marietta, for OVI, operating without or with an expired license,
for not having license plates and for driving left of center,
all misdemeanors. Roux was arrested on State Route 26 by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 1 Feb 06 at 11:04 pm.
