On 31 Jan 06 Sgt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff
Simmons responded to the scene of a domestic dispute at 115
Warner Second Street in Lower Salem. Kathy Hockenberry, age
28, informed the Deputies she was assisting her daughter with
her homework when her husband Rocky, age 46, entered the room
and attempted to instigate a fight. Mr. Hockenberry, allegedly
in a drunken haze that began on 28 Jan, continued yelling and
charged toward his wife. During the melee to ensue, Mr. Hockenberry
either kicked or punched his wife in the left cheek and threatened
to kill her. Mrs. Hockenberry escaped to a neighbor’s
while Mr. Hockenberry was arrested for felony domestic violence
due to a prior conviction for the same offense and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 31 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff McLeish issued
a citation to Amanda M. Queen, age 26, 13768 State Route 339,
Waterford, for failing to use a child restraint. Deputy McLeish
stopped Ms. Queen on near the intersection of US 50 and State
Route 7 in Belpre Township.
On 31 Jan 06 Meagan M. Drydek, age 28, 590
Main Street, Waterford, reported being informed by her neighbors
of several broken windows at her home. Inspecting the home,
Ms. Drydek noticed a large concrete block between the laundry
room and kitchen and large amounts of broken glass from shattered
windows throughout the home. This case remains under investigation
(597).
On 31 Jan 06 Russell E. Billiter, age 60,
187 Billiter Road, New Matamoras, reported all of his tools,
valued at over $800, were stolen from the shed he is rebuilding
on his property. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 31 Jan 06 Janis Duckworth, age 46, 8535
State Route 555, Cutler, reported at some point since the first
of December four guns, including a Civil War musket and a homemade
muzzleloader, were stolen from her home. This case remains
under investigation (296).
On 31 Jan 06 Sgt. Hiatt observed a vehicle
driven by David M. Brunoni, age 18, 2101 Leith Run Road, New
Matamoras, traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route
7. When Sgt. Hiatt turned to stop Mr. Brunoni, he saw him strike
a guardrail as he turned onto Sheets Run Drive at a high rate
of speed. Mr. Brunoni was not injured in the crash though his
Pontiac Lemans sustained functional damage. A proximate cause
of the crash, Mr. Brunoni was also issued a citation for speeding.
On 31 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued a
citation to Saundra N. Kesterson, age 27, 1921 Deming Road,
Fleming, for traveling 58 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Parks
stopped Ms. Kesterson near the intersection of Wynnwood Road
and State Route 550 in Warren Township.
On 31 Jan 06 Sgt. Hiatt issued a citation
to Todd A. Davis, age 18, 4340 Sheets Run Road, New Matamoras,
for traveling 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Hiatt stopped Mr.
Davis on State Route 7 near milepost forty-six in Grandview
Township.
On 31 Jan 06 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Jeffrey A. Christian, age 37, 47475 State Route 145, Lewisville,
OH, for failing to stop at a red light. Lt. Wilson stopped
Mr. Christian at the intersection of US 50 and Farson Street
in Belpre Township.
On 31 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued a
citation to Janine C. Satterfield, age 44, 407 Knob Road, Vincent,
for traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Parks stopped
Ms. Satterfield near the intersection of Wynnwood Road and
State Route 550 in Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Donald Lee Givens Jr., age 48, 100 Lynnwood
Avenue Lot B, Marietta, for operating without a license, a
misdemeanor. Givens was arrested at the Four Seasons in Marietta
by Patrolman Titus of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 06 at 12:15
am.
Tyler Nathaniel Bailey, age 24, 10305 State Route 550, Vincent,
for two counts of failure to appear and for breach of recognizance,
all felonies. Bailey was arrested on Front Street in Marietta
by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 06
at 12:40 am.
Dannie Junior Crossno, age 46, 174 Valley Avenue, Lester,
WV, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for having
fictitious plates, both misdemeanors. Crossno was arrested
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 06 at 2:35 am.
Donald Lynn Crossno, age 44, 3603 Spokan Avenue, Cleveland,
for a felony charge of possession of drugs and a misdemeanor
charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines. Crossno was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 31 Jan 06 at 2:35 am.
Samuel David Simerl, age 23, 127 Lancaster
Street, Athens, for violating the terms of his probation, a
felony. Simerl was picked up at the Southeastern Regional Jail
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 31 Jan 06 at 10:55 am.
Jonathan James Hall, age 18, 194 Davis Road, Waterford, for
rape, a felony. Hall was arrested at his residence by Detective
Smithberger of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 06
at 2:45 pm.
James Leroy Henthorn, age 27, 1207 County House Lane, Marietta,
for rape, a felony. Henthorn was arrested at his residence
by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 06
at 6:30 pm.
Amy Renee Massey, age 24, 300 Starlite Drive Lot 55, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Massey was arrested on County Road 9 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31
Jan 06 at 9:48 pm.
Rocky Allen Hockenberry, age 46, 115 Warner Second Street,
Lower Salem, for a felony charge of domestic violence and a
misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines. Hockenberry was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 31 Jan 06 at 10:16 pm.
