On 14 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted
a traffic stop on State Route 821 after observing a vehicle
driven by James M. Blair, age 48, County Road 78, Lower Salem,
travel left of the center line. Though he declined to perform
field sobriety tests, Mr. Blair admitted he consumed twelve
beers that evening. Charged with OVI and driving under a suspended
license, Mr. Blair was arrested and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 14 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Parks investigated
a complaint by the pastor of Cornerstone Ministries, 27375
State Route 7, Marietta, alleging a former parishioner defaced
the church’s website with homosexual slurs and other
offensive comments. The pastor stated the suspect, Jed L. Lessard,
age 19, 1530 Nichols Road, Whipple, designed and was granted
permission to access the website prior to his expulsion but
was no longer welcome at the church. When questioned, Mr. Lessard
admitted to Deputy Parks he defaced the website using a computer
at Radio Shack in the mall and was attempting to provoke a
negative response from the pastor. As a result, Deputy Parks
requested a summons for Mr. Lessard for the unauthorized use
of a computer, a third degree felony.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Peter Ng, age 20, 4011 Overland Trail, Kettering, OH, for
receiving stolen property and for having a weapon while under
disability, both felonies. Ng was arrested at the Locker Room
by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jan 06
at 12:40 am.
Timothy Lynn Byrd, age 41, 14224 Plum Creek, Columbia Station,
OH, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Byrd
was arrested at the intersection of Fourth and Scammel Streets
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jan 06 at 4:20 pm.
Molly Marie Azbell, age 34, 449 Franklin Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for violating the terms of her probation, both misdemeanors.
Azbell was picked up in Athens County by Deputy Sheriff Willson
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jan 06
at 9:50 pm.
