On 13 Jan 06 a seventeen year old Warren High
School student reported her pink American Eagle wallet was
stolen from inside her purse in the girl’s locker room
between 11:15 am and 12:15 pm that day. This case remains under
investigation (698).
On 13 Jan 06 Donald D. Sparling, age 78, 4525
Sparling Road, Waterford, reported on two occasions over the
past several days, a large number of aluminum irrigation pipes
and sprinkler heads were stolen from his property. This case
remains under investigation (200).
On 13 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued
a citation to Donald Kitts, age 23, 9400 State Route 550, Vincent,
for failure to register. Deputy Stackpole stopped Mr. Miller
near the intersection of Veto and Braun Roads in Belpre Township.
On 13 Jan 06 Evette Hardie, age 28, 96 Main
Street, Lower Salem, reported when she and her live-in boyfriend
John O’Brien, age 50, returned home from playing cards
with friends, they noticed Mr. O’Brien’s Toyota
truck had been rammed through the doors of their unattached
garage. Ms. Hardie and Mr. O’Brien stated while they
were playing cards David Bigley, age 35, 7765 Dalzell Road,
Lower Salem, accused Mr. O’Brien of cheating and attempted
to instigate a fight. When Mr. O’Brien refused to engage
Mr. Bigley exclaimed he was going to ram Mr. O’Brien’s
truck through his garage. Confronted with witness statements
and evidence of paint transfer from his truck to that of Mr.
O’Brien, Mr. Bigley confessed to causing the damage and
was issued a summons to appear in court for criminal damaging.
On 13 Jan 06 Robert L. Gildow, age 66, 570
Grindstone, Marietta, reported being informed by a neighbor
that vehicle parts were illegally disposed of on his property.
Following up on the information, Mr. Gildow observed tires,
other vehicle parts and a brake pad box strewn across the field.
This case remains under investigation (945).
On 13 Jan 06 a sixteen year old Lowell resident
reported being punched in the face following a traffic crash
on State Route 676. The sixteen year old assailant, not involved
in the crash, admitted stopping at the crash scene to punch
the victim because the two argued about dating a fourteen year
old female earlier in the day. In consequence, Deputy Sheriff
Eddy requested a summons for the suspect to appear in Juvenile
Court on a delinquency charge.
On 13 Jan 06 Jessica L. Calder, age 27, 205
Scammel Street Apt. 2, Marietta, reported her gold 1993 Mazda
was stolen after she left the vehicle running to enter Byer’s
Exxon to purchase coffee. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 13 Jan 06 Cassandra K. Murray, age 25,
60 AE Miller Road, Marietta, reported the vehicle she left
in the parking lot of Miller’s AM/PM because of a broken
axle on 2 Jan 06 was missing when she returned on 13 Jan. This
case remains under investigation (1184).
On 13 Jan 06 Lt. Wilson initiated a traffic
stop after a vehicle abruptly pulled in front of his patrol
car after stopping at the intersection of Fort Harmar Drive
and Market Street. Following the vehicle with his emergency
lights activated, Lt. Wilson observed the vehicle drive upon
the curb and finally stop as the driver tossed a can into the
back seat. Lt. Wilson noticed an odor of alcohol on the driver,
Bernard L. Knotts, age 53, 109 Chapel Avenue, Marietta, as
well as nine empty cans, an open beer can and wet beer stains
on the back seat. Following Mr. Knotts’ poor performance
on horizontal gaze nystagmus tests he was arrested for OVI,
for possessing an open container of alcohol and failure to
yield and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 13 Jan 06 Nathan Cline, age 19, 108 Berry
Lane, Marietta, reported the paycheck he anticipated receiving
in the mail yesterday was intercepted and cashed by his mother’s
live-in boyfriend, Nelson D. Lewis, age 38. Mr. Cline stated
he asked Mr. Lewis to check the mail for his paycheck but Mr.
Lewis said it did not arrive. Cleverly asking for Mr. Cline’s
social security number by claiming it was for inquiring into
a car loan Mr. Lewis phoned the bank feigning to be Mr. Cline.
Acting as Mr. Cline he asked if a friend could cash his check
because he was ill and provided the social security number.
Mr. Lewis then drove through the drive through, cashed the
check and has not been seen since. As a result, Deputy Sheriff
Parks requested warrants for Mr. Lewis for receiving stolen
property and uttering.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Paula Jackson, age 18, 1208 14th Street, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failing to appear in court after having been
indicted for breaking and entering and theft.
Jerry Key, age 44, an inmate at the North Central Regional
Jail, Charleston, for contempt for failing to appear in court
after having been charged with domestic violence.
Jason R. Luke, age 23, 137 Franklin Street, Marietta, for
contempt for failing to appear in court after having been charged
with failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer
and for violating the terms of his probation.
Noal D. Quattlebaum, age 19, 4136 Sparling
Road, Waterford, for an act of domestic violence committed
on 12 Jan 06 as well as aggravated burglary and violating the
terms of a protection order on the same day.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Bernard Lowell Knotts, age 53, 205 Gibbons
Place, Marietta, for OVI, for failing to obey the right of
way and for possessing an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors.
Knotts was arrested on State Route 550 by Lt. Wilson of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 06 at 1:20 am.
Christopher Michael Fowler, age 30, 628 Eighth Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, as misdemeanor. Fowler
was arrested on Glendale by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 Jan 06 at 7:30 am.
Geoffrey Allen Davis, age 50, Marietta, for
breach of recognizance, a felony. Davis was picked up at the
Noble Correctional Institute by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 06
at 9:50 am.
David Lee Rowe Jr., age 29, 711 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for
domestic violence, a felony. Rowe was picked up at the Noble
Correctional Institute by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 06 at 9:50
am.
Robin Jerome Richards, age 18, PO Box 28, Barlow, for complicity
in aggravated burglary, a felony. Richards was picked up at
the Nelsonville Residential Center by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 06
at 12:20 pm.
Noal Damiona Quattlebaum, age 19, 2901 Wells Road, Waterford,
for a felony charge of aggravated burglary and misdemeanor
charges of violating the terms of a protection order and domestic
violence. Quattlebaum was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court
by Sgt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 06
at 5:36 pm.
