On 12 Jan 06 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued
a citation to Dominic A. Rapposelli, age 18, 1317 Orchard Heights
Drive, Mayfield Heights, OH, for traveling 85 mph in a 65 mph
zone. Deputy Rhodes stopped Mr. Rapposelli at milepost fourteen
on Interstate 77 in Aurelius Township.
On 12 Jan 06 Rick A. Kiggans, age 43, 450
Wentz Road, Marietta, reported sometime during the past three
weeks the battery to his tow trailer, a winch cover plate and
several tie down straps were stolen from his business at 105
River Lane, Marietta. This case remains under investigation
(792).
On 12 Jan 06 an employee of Marietta Ignition,
123 Tennis Center Drive, Marietta, reported at some point during
the past two days a MIG welder with a retail value of $653
was stolen from the business. This case remains under investigation
(200).
On 12 Jan 06 Sgt. Gherke was dispatched to
3570 Oak Hill Road, Cutler, in response to a domestic violence
incident. Amber Wesley, age 19, stated when arrived home her
former live-in boyfriend, against whom she has a protection
order, was lying in wait in her bedroom. Ms. Wesley asked Noal
D. Quattlebaum, age 19, 2901 Wells Road, Waterford, to leave
but he refused. As Ms. Wesley attempted to answer a ringing
phone, Mr. Quattlebaum shoved her to the floor and pushed a
recliner over on top of her. Escaping, Ms. Wesley tried grabbing
another phone but was pushed up against a kitchen cabinet,
breaking two stemmed glasses in the process. After she and
Mr. Quattlebaum finally parted ways, Ms. Wesley returned to
her residence to discover a broken window through which Mr.
Quattlebaum gained entry into the locked home. As a result,
Sgt. Gherke requested summonses for Mr. Quattlebaum for aggravated
burglary, for violating the terms of a protection order and
for domestic violence.
On 12 Jan 06 Dorothy Henthorn, age 36, 1308
Williamson Avenue Apt. 5F, New Matamoras, reported being assaulted
by her live-in boyfriend of ten years, Shane F. Carpenter,
age 34. Ms. Henthorn informed Deputy Parks the torment began
the previous evening when Mr. Carpenter accused her of playing
cards incorrectly and punched her in the head several times.
On today’s date, Ms. Henthorn continued, stating Mr.
Carpenter was intoxicated, grabbed her hair as she slept on
the couch and commenced jerking on her hair and screaming.
Determining Ms. Henthorn was in fear for her safety and that
Mr. Carpenter has a previous conviction, Deputy Parks arrested
Mr. Carpenter for felony domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.

for the theft of cigarettes and a frozen pizza from Sponey’s
IGA on 27 Dec 05.
Keith F. Heiss, age 27, Turkeyhen Road, Fleming, for the unauthorized
use of a Ford F-250 belonging to Eugene Heiss on 1 Apr 05.
Nannie W. Johnson, age 73, 31477 Christman Ridge Road, Lewisville,
OH, for writing a bad check for $44.87 to Walmart on 21 Jun
05.
Jason R. Luke, age 23, 137 Franklin Street Apt. 2, Marietta,
for two counts of failing to appear to serve ninety days in
jail on 2 Jan 06.
David W. Melott II, age 21, Route 1 Box 159D, Cairo, WV, for
the theft of gasoline from B & J Marathon on 25 Oct 05.
Timothy J. Newbrough, age 21, 1102 ½ 24th Street, Parkersburg,
failing to appear to serve ninety days in jail on 26 Dec 05.
Loring D. Stevens, age 31, 1585 State Route 555, Chesterhill,
for vehicular homicide.
Timothy J. Triplett, age 32, 58620 State Route 124, Portland,
OH, for the theft of a Chevy truck from Pioneer Casting on
30 Nov 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shane Franklin Carpenter, age 34, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 5F, New Matamoras, for two misdemeanor charges
of domestic violence. Carpenter was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 12 Jan 06 at 2:30 am.
Jessica Lynn Stevens, age 24, 817 Masonic
Park Road Lot 12, Marietta, for violating the terms of her
probation, a misdemeanor. Stevens was arrested at her residence
by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Jan 06 at 9:17 pm.
