On 3 Jan 06 Nancy Newman, age 64, Pennock
Trailer Court Lot 20, Beverly, reported when she dropped her
son Richard G. Newman, age 39, Pennock Trailer Court Lot 20,
Beverly, to meet a friend, he angered at a comment she made
and head butted her as he exited the car. Ms. Newman stated
her son later appeared on her doorstep asking for money and
when she refused his request Mr. Newman repeatedly kicked the
bottom of her front door, causing difficulty in opening the
door. When questioned, Mr. Newman admitted head butting his
mother in an act of intimidation and that he kicked the bottom
of the trailer’s door because he was angry. In consequence,
Mr. Newman was arrested for domestic violence and criminal
damaging and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 3 Jan 06 Todd T. Esham, age 31, 57A Brooks
Lane, Marietta, reported during the previous evening three
vehicles belonging to members of his household were entered
and a knife and sum of cash stolen from inside. This case remains
under investigation (296).
On 3 Jan 06 Sgt. Gherke responded to the scene
of a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Cole-Coffman
Road and State Route 550. Ashley N. Coplin, age 18, 2600 Underwood
Drive, Belpre, was turning from Cole-Coffman onto eastbound
550 when she lost control of her Toyota Tacoma and struck a
guardrail. The vehicle sustained nonfunctional damage; Ms.
Coplin reported no injuries.
On 3 Jan 06 an employee of Electrotech Appliance
Repair, 258 Stony Run Road, Beverly, reported the business
received a bad check for services rendered on 14 Nov 05. This
case remains under investigation (8411).
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Glenn Newman II, age 39, Pennock Trailer
Park Lot 21, Beverly, for domestic violence and for criminal
damaging/endangering, both misdemeanors. Newman was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 3 Jan 06 at 2:35 am.
