On 10 Dec 05 a sixteen year old Watertown
resident reported at some point during the past week two twelve
inch speakers were stolen from inside his unlocked vehicle.
This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 10 Dec 05 Jeanette L. Biddinger, age 54,
1098 Deming Road, Fleming, reported since placing her ¾ carat
diamond earrings in her jewelry box on 6 Dec, she returned
two days later to discover them missing. Further inventorying
her jewelry, Ms. Biddinger determined a diamond and sapphire
ring and a watch were also missing. This case remains under
investigation (1203).
On 10 Dec 05 Deputy Sheriff Norman conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by David E. Ray, age 32,
1841 State Route 78, McConnelsville, for weaving across the
centerline of State Route 60 near Lowell. Noticing an odor
of alcohol on Mr. Ray, Deputy Norman administered a series
of field sobriety tests, on which Mr. Ray performed poorly.
Accordingly, Deputy Norman arrested Mr. Ray for OVI and for
driving left of center and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 10 Dec 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was dispatched
to 380 Grubb Road, Marietta, in response to a domestic violence
complaint. The victim, Brandi K. Matheny, age 21, informed
Deputy Mankins she and her live-in boyfriend James A. Haney,
age 22, were arguing over her desire to go out with friends
when the phone rang. Once she answered it, Mr. Haney usurped
it from her, threw it against the wall and pushed her to the
bed. Ms. Matheny further elaborated that her boyfriend struck
her in the left eye in the process and the situation placed
her in fear for her safety. As a result, Deputy Mankins arrested
Mr. Haney for domestic violence and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.
On 10 Dec 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Kevin W. Thomas, age
24, 1505 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, after observing the vehicle
weaving in its lane of travel. Questioned by Deputy Rhodes
on his odor of alcohol, Mr. Thomas admitted consuming three
Busch Lights earlier in the evening. Following Mr. Thomas’ poor
performance on field sobriety tests, Deputy Rhodes arrested
him for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 10 Dec 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins stopped
a vehicle for driving left of center and for having a faulty
license plate light while traveling on State Route 530 near
Fifth Street in Lowell. Upon running routine checks, Deputy
Mankins learned the driver, Nathan D. Linger, age 22, 3905
State Route 530, Lowell, had an FRA suspended license and that
the plates on the vehicle expired in November. Speaking to
the passenger in the vehicle, Dustin Lee McKnight, age 20,
3905 State Route 530, Deputy Mankins noticed an odor of alcohol.
When asked, Mr. McKnight confessed he consumed a beer at his
residence that evening. As a result, Deputy Mankins arrested
Mr. Linger for driving under a suspended license and Mr. McKnight
for underage consumption of alcohol and transported them to
the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Leonard Clark, age 34, 1685 Wynncrest
Drive, Marietta, for misuse of a credit card and for theft,
both misdemeanors. Clark was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta
by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Dec 05
at 1:04 am.
Dustin Lee McKnight, age 20, 3905 State Route 530, Lowell,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. McKnight
was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Dec 05 at 2:54 am.
Nathan Dewaine Linger, age 22, 3905 State Route 530, Lowell,
for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation
and misdemeanor charges of driving under an FRA suspended license
and failure to register. Linger was arrested in Lowell by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 10 Dec 05 at 3:15 am.
Tracy Joe Milligan, age 34, 215 Gibbons Place, Marietta, for
OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Milligan
was arrested on Putnam Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Dec 05
at 3:49 am.
William Thomas Reed, age 46, 600 Bramblewood Heights Road,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Reed was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt at the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 10 Dec 05 at 11:05 am.
David Edward Ray, age 32, 1841 State Route 78, McConnelsville,
for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Ray was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Norman
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Dec 05
at 9:00 pm.
