On 2 Dec 05, while on patrol on Sheets Run Road, Deputy Mankins observed a vehicle drive off the right side of the road and into a ditch. Almost falling down, the driver exited the vehicle unscathed. Noticing an odor of alcohol, Deputy Mankins asked the driver, Paul D. Valentine, age 53, 1975 Newells Run Road, Newport, how much he had to drink, to which Mr. Valentine replied “way too much.” Unable to complete field sobriety tests due to his inebriety, Mr. Valentine was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 2 Dec 05 Allen B. Biehl, age 33, 125 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported between 22 Jul and 4 Nov 05 an unknown suspect(s) broke a window to gain entry into his garage and stole a number of tools, including: two lawnmowers, a weed eater, a leaf blower, a chainsaw, a pressure washer and other miscellaneous tools. This case remains under investigation (695).

On 2 Dec 05 Greg B. Krivchenia, age 51, 1496 Glendale Road, Marietta, reported when he prepared to pump gasoline from a well on his property on 30 Nov 05, he noticed the fourteen horsepower pump was missing. This case remains under investigation (598).

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Angela R. McElfresh, age 43, 319 Gilman Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for failure to appear at a debtor’s exam on 4 Nov 05.

James L. Nichols, age 41, 7225 Marion Street, Chesterhill, for failure to appear at a debtor’s exam on 5 May 05.

Jay Waggoner, age 21, 104 Gregg Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a debtor’s exam on 4 Nov 05.

Tammy L. Whipkey, age 33, 836 Pike Street Apt. 15, Marietta, for failure to appear at a debtor’s exam on 4 Nov 05.

Raymond E. Howard, age 32, 601 Mitchell Avenue Apt. K, Beverly, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 14 Nov 05.

Cecil L. McCoy, age 37, PO Box 236, Vincent, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 21 Nov 05.

Terrence D. Roddy, age 34, County Road 805, Barlow, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 17 Oct 05.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Bradley Gene Smith, age 23, 1105 Poplar Street, Belpre, for aggravated robbery, a felony. Smith was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 05 at 1:30 am.

Wesley Ian Miller, age 18, 1115 Coal Run Road, Marietta, for receiving stolen property and for possession of criminal tools, both felonies. Miller was arrested on Morgan Avenue in Belpre by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 05 at 5:25 am.

Richard Paul Brown, age 54, 15634 River Road, Columbia Station, OH, for menacing by stalking, a felony. Brown turned himself in to Lt. Huffer at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 05 at 12:10 pm.

Randall Lee Schwendeman, age 46, 184 Cats Creek Road, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Schwendeman was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 05 at 10:20 pm.

Matthew Sanford Nixon, age 23, 26115 State Route 7, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation and for driving under a suspended license, both misdemeanors. Nixon was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 05 at 11:30 pm.
