On 25 Nov 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins encountered
a vehicle on County Road 3 with one functioning headlight and
conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. A computer
check concluded the driver Romen Z. Vandall, age 22, 945 Windy
Ridge Road, Vincent, failed to pay reinstatement fee for his
operator’s license and was subsequently placed under
arrest. Noticing an odor of alcohol on the passenger Karen
N. Statkiewicz, age 24, 945 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, Deputy
Mankins inquired if she had been drinking in the vehicle, to
which she replied in the affirmative. Also admitting she permitted
Mr. Vandall to drive her vehicle without a license, Ms. Statkiewicz
was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 Nov 05, while en route to a reported
threat, Lt. Wilson encountered the suspect’s black Saturn
as the driver pulled into the complainants driveway, 150 yards
from the residence on Barth Road. Activating his emergency
lights, Lt. Wilson followed the vehicle as it turned off the
driveway and failed in its attempt to climb a large hill. Before
the driver and his passenger could exchange places in the front
seat, Lt. Wilson ordered Russell E. Coy, age 36, 232 Bear Fork
Road, Yawkey, WV, and Mr. Coy’s live-in girlfriend Teri
L. Long, age 28, out of the car. Noticing numerous empty beer
and liquor bottles in the vehicle, Lt. Wilson conducted a horizontal
gaze test on Mr. Coy with poor results. Deputy Sheriff Kapple
arrived to assist with an uncooperative Ms. Long who was having
trouble standing and slurring her speech. When Ms. Long failed
to discontinue her boisterous behavior, Deputy Kapple arrested
her for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported
her to the Washington County Jail. Lt. Wilson also arrested
Mr. Coy for OVI and for driving under an OVI suspended license
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 Nov 05 Carlton D. Theobald, age 73,
850 Jett Hill Road, Reno, reported when he found a four foot
section of barbed wire cut from his fence he found no signs
of his nine head of cattle on his property. This case remains
under investigation (598).
On 25 Nov 05 Deputy Sheriff Malone began an
investigation into theft of items from six vehicles in the
Belpre area. Windows were broken to enter four of the vehicles
while the other two were left unlocked. Property stolen includes
loose change, a flashlight and a Timberline coat.
On 25 Nov 05 Leonard Teague, age 70, 1235
Morris Road, Cutler, reported at some point during the last
five months, a blood pressure monitor, a blood glucose tester
and two drinking glasses were stolen from his home. This case
remains under investigation (586).
On 25 Nov 05 Bonnie J. Grinnell, age 44, 27400
State Route 7 Lot 80, Marietta, reported when she returned
home after visiting her father she noticed a prescription bottle
containing nineteen Vicodin pills was missing from her dresser
drawer. This case remains under investigation (1184).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Adrian Powers, age 35, 116 Sunset Drive,
Marietta, for possession of drugs, a felony. Powers was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
25 Nov 05 at 2:45 am.
Dwayne Lamar Crowder, age 41, 5 Monticello Drive, Athens,
for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Crowder was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 05 at 3:15 am.
Anthony William Kennedy, age 22, 2641 Maxine NE, Canton, for
automobile theft, a felony. Kennedy was picked up at the Stark
County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Farrell and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 05 at 1:15 pm.
Russell Everett Coy, age 36, 232 Bear Fork Road, Yawkey, WV,
for OVI, driving under an OVI suspended license and for violating
the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Coy was arrested
on Barth Road by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25
Nov 05 at 10:00 pm.
Teri Lynn Long, age 28, 232 Bear Fork Road, Yawkey, WV, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Long was
arrested on Barth Road by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 25 Nov 05 at 10:00 pm.
