On 5 Nov 05 Deputy Rhodes conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle driven by Carolyn F. Tippins, age 43, Cemetery
Lane, Sardis, on State Route 339 after observing an inoperable
license plate light on her vehicle. Questioned by Deputy Rhodes
on her odor of alcohol, Ms. Tippins admitted consuming two
beers at a residence in Beverly. Following Ms. Tippins’ poor
performance on field sobriety tests, Deputy Rhodes arrested
her for OVI and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 5 Nov 05 Allen R. Cameron, age 53, 426
Fifth Street, Lowell, reported over the last two months an
unknown suspect removed the front and rear license plates,
number BB60TL, from a vehicle parked in his yard for restoration.
This case remains under investigation (597).
On 5 Nov 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes stopped
a vehicle for speeding on State Route 7 near milepost eighteen.
When asked, James E. Schoeppner Jr., age 47, 103 Social Row,
Marietta, admitted consuming alcohol and submitted to field
sobriety tests with poor results. When a subsequent search
of Mr. Schoeppner’s vehicle yielded a small quantity
of marijuana he was arrested for OVI and for possession of
marijuana and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Carolyn Francis Tippins, age 43, PO Box 545,
Sardis, for OVI and for having an inoperable license plate
light. Tippins was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff
Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov
05 at 2:35 am.
Amy Lynn Smithberger, age 18, 221 Robinson Hill Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct and for underage consumption of alcohol,
both misdemeanors. Smithberger was arrested on Matthew Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Titus of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 Nov 05 at 2:50 am.
David Scott McKee, age 29, 287 Algonquin Avenue, Columbus,
for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, a misdemeanor.
McKee was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 05 at
11:35 am.
Brad Michael Smith, age 32, 775 Jennings Hill Road, Marietta,
for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Smith turned himself
in to Deputy Sheriff Norman and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Nov 05 at 4:10 pm.
John Eugene Anderson, age 25, 760 Greene Street, Marietta,
for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Anderson was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 Nov 05 at 10:05 pm.
James E. Schoeppner Jr., age 47, 103 Social Row, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI, possession of drugs and for speeding, all
misdemeanors. Schoeppner was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 5 Nov 05 at 10:40 pm.
