On 4 Nov 05 Lt. Canavan responded to a domestic violence complaint at the home of Latresha A. Bennett, age 34, 19965 State Route 550, Marietta. Ms. Bennett stated when she attempted to phone law enforcement during an argument with her live-in boyfriend James E. Corbitt, age 28, he grabbed her around the neck in a choke hold, forced the phone from her hand and ripped the phone from the wall. Due to Mr. Corbitt’s actions, Lt. Canavan arrested him for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 4 Nov 05 the father of a fifteen year old Little Hocking resident reported his son threatened to “slice up” his thirteen year old brother. Determining the younger brother was in fear for his safety, Deputy Sheriff Parks arrested the fifteen year old for being delinquent and transported him to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.

On 4 Nov 05 Ronald Cline, age 45, 255 Knob Road, Vincent, reported he believes employees of Big Sandy acted maliciously when they left behind thirty staples they removed when repairing his couch. This case remains under investigation (1090).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

James Wesley Whitlock, age 36, 1400 41st Street, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Whitlock was picked up in Guernsey County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Nov 05 at 11:45 am.

Dallas Willey Farnsworth, age 32, 266 Muskingum Drive Apt. C, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, for criminal trespassing and for contempt of a court order, all misdemeanors. Farnsworth was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Nov 05 at 9:15 pm.

Kenneth Alan Farnsworth, age 44, 266 Muskingum Drive Apt. C, Marietta, for a felony charge of assault and misdemeanor charges of menacing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Farnsworth was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Nov 05 at 9:15 pm.

James Edward Corbitt, age 28, 710 Bender Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Corbitt was arrested at his residence by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Nov 05 at 10:55 pm.

Robert Edward Carpenter, age 31, 2665 Mill Fork Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Nov 05 at 11:05 pm.
