On 28 Oct 05 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Phillip W. Bruneau, age 22, 17820 Brickmill Run, Strongsville,
OH, for hazardous passing. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Bruneau on
Fort Harmar Drive near Maple Street in Marietta.
On 28 Oct 05, while working a lock-in at Marietta
Roller Rink, Detective Warden was informed by a rink employee
of an empty package of Coricidin HBP in the restroom. Knowledgeable
through training of juveniles using the cold tablets to get
high, Detective Warden interviewed fifteen year old Reno and
Marietta residents. One male admitted consuming five pills,
the other male twelve and that they purchased the pills locally
to get high and to avoid testing positive on drug tests. Detective
Warden released the juveniles to the custody of their parents
and requested summonses for each to appear in Juvenile Court
for being unruly. The Sheriffs Office urges retailers and parents
to exercise diligence regarding juvenile possession of over
the counter drugs.
On 28 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a
citation to Lawrence A. Fay, age 22, 128 Mount Blaine Drive,
McMurray, PA, for traveling 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Evans stopped Mr. Fay on State Route 7 near Joe Skinner Road
in Warren Township.
On 28 Oct 05, after stopping a vehicle for
speeding on State Route 7 in Newport, Deputy Sheriff Parks
noticed an open bottle of whiskey under the seat of the passenger
identified as Anthony L. Gallo, age 23, 883 Treemont Street,
Morgantown, WV. Asked about the odor on his breath, Mr. Gallo
answered he drank some of the whiskey in the vehicle prior
to the traffic stop. When questioned another passenger, Stephanie
K. Rowe, age 19, 127 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta, admitted drinking
a shot of the whiskey stolen from her parents prior to the
traffic stop and also that she consumed wine at a friend’s
home in Marietta. Deputy Parks then arrested Mr. Gallo for
consuming alcohol in a vehicle and Ms. Rowe for underage consumption
of alcohol and transported them to the Washington County Jail.
On 28 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a
citation to Victor R. Anderson, age 19, 24146 Woodmere Drive,
North Olmstead, OH, for traveling 87 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Anderson on State Route 7 at Lockhart
Street in Belpre Township.
On 28 Oct 05 Frederick Gerber, age 64, 1670
Gun Club Road, Whipple, reported between 1:30 and 3:30 that
afternoon an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered his home and
stole three twenty gauge shotguns and a muzzleloader. This
case remains under investigation (296).
On 28 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Treavis C. Poynter, age 20, 946 East State Street,
Athens, for traveling 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins
stopped Mr. Poynter at milepost forty-eight on State Route
7 in Grandview Township.
On 28 Oct 05 Richard D. Ellis, age 72, 128
Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported when he awoke that morning
he noticed an unidentified suspect had keyed and egged one
of his vehicles and stole an XM receiver from another. This
case remains under investigation (1091).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Stephen William Klan, age 20, 71466 Maynard Hill, Maynard,
OH, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Klan was arrested
on US 50 by Patrolman Smeeks of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Oct 05
at 12:55 am.
Daniel Joseph McManus, age 22, 544 Revere Way, Galloway, NJ,
for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. McManus
was arrested on US 50 by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 28 Oct 05 at 1:28 am.
Anthony Lee Gallo, age 23, 883 Treemont Street, Morgantown,
WV, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Gallo
was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Oct 05 at 2:30 am.
Stephanie Kristin Rowe, age 19, 127 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Rowe was
arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Oct 05 at 2:30 am.
Justin Daniel Deems, age 25, 18155 State Route 550, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Deems was
arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Oct 05 at 10:30 am.
Stanley Ray Goodnight, age 63, Route 4 Box 444, Parkersburg,
for OVI and for failure to obey the right of way, both misdemeanors.
Goodnight was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28
Oct 05 at 3:45 pm.
Jason Ray Luke, age 22, 137 Franklin Street Apt. 2, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Luke was
arrested at the Courthouse by Probation Officer Gault and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Oct 05 at 4:15 pm.
