On 23 Oct 05 Sgt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff
Norman were dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute at
4188 Patten Mills Road, Bartlett. Valerie Coler, age 29, stated
she and her boyfriend Charles J. Shaw, age 43, 2355 East River
Road, Stockport, were arguing in the bedroom when he threw
a glass ashtray at her. Mr. Shaw then left the room for the
kitchen where he ripped the phone from the wall, threw it on
the floor and tossed a glass bowl across the room. The skirmish
continued in the living room as Mr. Shaw pushed Ms. Coler to
the floor, causing her to strike her elbow and knee on a coffee
table. Mr. Shaw jumped on his girlfriend but before he could
punch her was kicked off and left the residence, punching through
a kitchen window as he departed. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Shaw
was arrested at his residence for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 23 Oct 05 an employee of the Fort BP, 101
Fifty Street, Beverly, reported the driver of a white minivan
drove off without paying for $20 in gasoline. After Deputy
Sheriff Simmons located the suspect she returned to the gas
station to pay for her purchase, prompting the business to
decline to pursue the matter further.
On 23 Oct 05 an employee of Miller’s
BP, State Route 821, Marietta, reported the driver of a maroon
Chrysler drove off without paying for $37.13 in gasoline. This
case remains under investigation (602).
On 23 Oct 05 David Spaulding, age 46, 572
Carson Lane, Little Hocking, reported during the past day an
unknown person(s) trespassed onto his property and tampered
with several unused junk items. Mr. Spaulding declined to pursue
the matter further (602).
On 23 Oct 05 Steven Osborne, age 31, 529 Federal
Road, Little Hocking, reported when returned to the home he
shares with his ex-wife after a night of drinking, his ex-wife
began badgering him incessantly, did not allow him to sleep
and allegedly poured a pitcher of water on him. Determining
no criminal act occurred, Deputy Sheriff Kapple closed this
case as unfounded.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Charles Schumacher, age 18, 215 Fifth
Street Box 1476, Marietta, for possession of drugs, underage
consumption of alcohol, resisting arrest and for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Schumacher was arrested
on Greene Street in Marietta by Officer Moon of the Marietta
College Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Oct 05 at 1:35 am.
Charles Jeffery Shaw, age 43, 2355 River Road, Stockport,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Shaw was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 23 Oct 05 at 3:00 pm.
