On 7 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued
a citation to Shane Britton, age 33, 609 Fourth Street, New
Matamoras, for traveling 86 mph in a 55 mph zone and for
driving under a suspended license. Deputy Parks stopped Mr.
Britton on State Route 7 near Newells Run Road in Newport
Township.
On 7 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole investigated
a crash on County Nine Road at the intersection of Newells
Run Road in Newport. As Robert M. McKitrick Jr., age 31,
1090 Bender Road, Marietta, traveled northbound around a
curve, an oncoming vehicle in his lane forced him to swerve
off the road and to careen into a ditch. Mr. McKitrick suffered
no injuries despite the disabling damages done to his Ford
F-150 sustained.
On 7 Oct 05 Bernard Heiss, age 64, 621 Lowell
Hill Road, Waterford, reported an individual, with whom he
has had an ongoing dispute over mineral rights, allegedly
stole a regulator of his oil well. Toby Heiss, age 42, 273
Offenberger Lane, Waterford, admitted taking the regulator
and offered to replace it but did not have the required tools.
Mr. B. Heiss reattached the regulator but noticed an unreasonably
high amount of pressure on the gauge near the home. Upon
further inspection he noticed a piece broken off, not allowing
the regulator to maintain gas pressure. In consequence, Deputy
Sheriff Eddy requested a summons for Mr. T. Heiss for theft
and for criminal damaging.
On 7 Oct 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins and Detective
Smithberger conducted undercover operations at local businesses
in order to identify those selling alcohol to underage individuals.

Belpre, employed at Par Mar, 17785 State Route 7, Marietta.
Kelly J. Butz, age 37, 623 33rd Street,
Parkersburg, employed at Lawnsdale Bar and Carryout, 2355
Briggs Hill Road, Belpre.
Amanda J. Sampe, age 25, 217 Fourth Street,
Lowell, employed at the Duchess Shoppe, State Route 60, Lowell.
Erica D. Sayre, age 26, 16825 Murphy Road,
Amesville, employed at the Bartlett Corner Store, 2346 State
Route 550, Bartlett.
Antoinette E. Erb, age 22, 843 Moss Run
Road, Marietta, employed at Hasty Shopper, 4796 State Route
60, Marietta.

Melissa J. Flesher, age 31, 598 Tennis Center
Drive, Marietta, for contempt for failing to pay child support
and for failing to appear at a hearing on 26 Sep 05.
Mark A. McIntyre, age 23, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on an order to show cause on 3 Oct 05.
Melissa Calhoun, age 33, 1071 S Hiawassee
Road Apt. 1228, Orlando, FL, for parking her vehicle against
the flow of traffic on 6 Sep 03.
Valerie Lee Campbell, age 34, 270 Hendricks Street, Belpre,
for failing to require her dog to wear a tag on 9 Jul 05.
Jeremy E. O’Brien, age 21, 650 King Avenue, Cutler,
for killing a goat without the owner’s consent on 9 Aug
05.
Lucas W. Wharton, age 26, 216 Third Street, Lowell, for failing
to register his dog on 12 Aug 05.
Matthew B. White, age 26, 709 Borden Avenue, Charleston, for
possession of marijuana on 22 Sep 05.
The following
individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Dexter Arnett, age 61, 816 Fairmont
Avenue Apt. 7, Fairmont, WV, for receiving stolen property
and for theft, both felonies. Arnett was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Oct 05 at
1:05 pm.
