On 19 Sep 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted
a traffic stop on US 50 near Farson Street after observing
a vehicle with one functioning headlight and an expired registration.
An exterior search by the Belpre City Police Department canine
indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle driven by
Phillip W. Wells, age 24, 10156 Grass Run Road, New Marshfield,
OH. A subsequent search of the interior of the vehicle yielded
a glass jar of marijuana, a marijuana pipe, three small bags
of powder believed to be cocaine along with several small straws
nearby. Based on the evidence found, Deputy Evans arrested
Mr. Wells for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana,
possession of drug paraphernalia and for having an inoperable
headlight and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 19 Sep 05 an employee of Brooker’s
Pit Stop, 3355 State Route 821, Marietta, reported the driver
of a green GMC Jimmy drove off without paying for fifty-one
dollars of gasoline. This case remains under investigation
(1184).

Shaun Griffin, age 21, 403 Lord Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment on 26 Aug 05.

The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brandon Lee Hoffert, age 20, Marietta, for
theft, disorderly conduct by intoxication and for underage
consumption of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Hoffert was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Sep 05 at 1:20 am.
Phillip Wayne Wells, age 24, 10156 Grass Run Road, New Marshfield,
OH, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor
charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, having faulty
headlights and possession of drugs. Wells was arrested on US
50 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Sep 05 at 4:15 am.
Jeremy Warrior Coleman, age 20, 7188 Dale
Road, Stockport, for driving under an FRA suspended license,
a misdemeanor. Coleman was arrested on State Route 550 by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 19 Sep 05 at 10:15 am.
Shannon Marie Lang, age 25, 120 Howard Street, Marietta, a
fugitive from justice. Lang was arrested on Sunset Drive in
Marietta
by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Sep 05
at 1:30 pm.
