On 2 Sep 05 Lt. Wilson conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle he observed swerving in its lane as it traveled
on US 50 in Belpre. Recognizing the driver as Timothy W. Snyder,
age 24, 3543 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, due to an unrelated
encounter fifteen minutes earlier, Lt. Wilson knew Mr. Snyder
did not have a valid operator’s license. When Mr. Snyder
exited the vehicle he appeared unsteady on his feet and had
red, glassy eyes. After Mr. Snyder performed poorly on administered
field sobriety tests, Lt. Wilson arrested him for OVI. As a
result of the presence of Mr. Snyder’s girlfriend’s
two children and her fifteen year old cousin in the vehicle
Mr. Snyder was also charged with child endangerment and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 2 Sep 05 at the Washington County Fairgrounds,
Deputy Sheriff Smithberger observed an individual she believed
to have an outstanding warrant. Confirming her suspicions,
Deputy Smithberger arrested David C. MacClymont, age 37, 111
West Montgomery Street, Marietta. A search of Mr. MacClymont
yielded a small quantity of marijuana resulting in a charge
of possession of marijuana.
On 2 Sep 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans attempted
to conduct a traffic stop on State Route 821 after observing
the driver of the vehicle he was following repeatedly travel
left of center and traveling in excess of 70 mph. When the
driver failed to stop, a chase ensued for several miles through
Salem Township until the driver of the truck crashed into a
creek off of Huff Road and escaped on foot. This incident remains
under investigation.
On 2 Sep 05 Michelle Paxton, age 35, 837 Sand
Ridge Road, Waterford, reported during an argument over the
drunken state of her husband Rodney, age 39, so early in the
afternoon, Mr. Paxton became verbally abusive and picked up
her son’s pellet gun. Determining Mrs. Paxton
was only alarmed and not in fear for her safety, Sgt. Gherke
requested
a summons for Mr. Paxton for disorderly conduct.
On 2 Sep 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded
to a possible domestic dispute at 436 Main Street Apt. B, Waterford.
Mary E. Francis, age 42, answered the door and denied the presence
of a male in the apartment when questioned. Deputy Evans conducted
a security sweep after hearing a male’s voice and located
Richard Bay, age 38, 301 Oakwood Street, Marietta, in a rear
bedroom. Because Ms. Francis has a protection order against
Mr. Bay he was arrested for violating the terms of a protection
order and along with Ms. Francis, who was charged with giving
false information, transported to the Washington County Jail.

Jayme J. Bigler, age 29, 1016 Madison Street Apt. A, Charleston,
WV, for an assault committed on 19 Aug 05.
Kalitta N. Vincent, age 19, 2331 Sealy Ridge
Road, Vincent, for an act of domestic violence committed on
21 Jul 05 and for breach of recognizance for failing to appear
in court on 26 Aug 05.
James D. Whitehouse, age 44, 709 Wayne Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
to show proof
of obtaining a valid operator’s license or to appear
to serve three days in jail.

violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for
a scheduled appointment on 10 Aug 05.
Travis O. Hairston, age 30, Fourth and Windmill Street, Walnut
Cove, NC, for possession of marijuana on 12 Aug 05.
Johnny W. Johnson, age 22, 202 ½ Sheldon Avenue, Marietta,
for failing to appear to serve forty-seven days in jail on
24 Aug 05.
Anthony B. Martin, age 19, 700 Greenhill Road, for parking
a vehicle against the direction of travel on 27 Feb 05.
Sandra D. Rumbold, age 31, 8395 County Road 9, Newport, for
failure to confine or restrain a dog on 17 Aug 05.
Sam G. Wilcoxen, age 27, PO Box 335, Beverly, for an assault
committed on 3 Aug 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Timothy Wayne Snyder, age 24, 3543 Tick Ridge
Road, Vincent, for .17 breath OVI, for endangering children,
for driving under a suspended license and for possession of
drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Snyder was arrested on
State Route 7 by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep
05 at 2:10 am.
Richard Dyle Bay, age 38, 301 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta, for
violating the terms of a protection order and for operating
without or with an expired operator’s license, both misdemeanors.
Bay was arrested in Waterford by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 05 at 3:05 am.
Kurt Elden Williams, age 25, 1014 18th Street Apt. 2, Vienna,
for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Williams
was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 05 at 4:00 am.

Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines and for possession of drugs, both misdemeanors.
MacClymont was arrested at the fairgrounds by Deputy Sheriff
Smithberger and processed into the Washington County Jail on
2 Sep 05 at 11:15 am.
Ronald Lee Beach, age 48, 18 Butler Lane, Vinton, OH, for
driving under a suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Beach was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep
05 at 2:10 pm.
Robert Wayne Wheeler, age 43, 15484 Halley’s Ridge Road,
Caldwell, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Wheeler was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 05 at
3:10 pm.
John Eugene Anderson, age 23, 727 Greene Street, Marietta,
for theft and for breaking and entering, both felonies. Anderson
was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy
Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Sep 05 at 3:30 pm.
Brian Lee Miller, age 40, 105 Franklin Street, Marietta, for
two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of a protection
order. Miller was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 05 at 9:40 pm.
