On 31 Aug 05 Deputies were dispatched to the home of Ella M. Newlon, age 57, 2570 Lowell Hill Road, Lowell, after receiving a call of a burglary in progress. Ms. Newlon stated she observed a suspect she recognized as a friend of her grandson steal a number of tools off her front porch then depart in a maroon Chevy. The suspect, Justin M. Cline, age 19, Beverly, was later located by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, arrested for theft and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 31 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Norman began an investigation into the theft of a number of items from vehicles at 38 Second Street, Vincent, and in the Barlow area. Items stolen include change, CD players, a .22 caliber rifle with scope and cellular phones. This case remains under investigation.

On 31 Aug 05 Alisha Schmidt, age 20, 836 Pike Street Apt. 9, Marietta, reported her sister’s checkbook from National City Bank was stolen from the glove compartment of her vehicle sometime since 10 pm on 25 Aug. This case remains under investigation (292).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Russell Allen Strahler, age 43, 1001 Colonial Drive Apt. C1, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Strahler was arrested on Decond Street in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 05 at 1:25 am.

Justin Michael Cline, age 19, 32301 Buchanan Road, Waterford, for theft and for carrying a concealed weapon, both misdemeanors. Cline was arrested at Marietta Structures by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 05 at 3:15 pm.
