On 28 Aug 05 Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded to a domestic dispute in progress at Lot 4 of Drake’s Trailer Court in Lowell. The victim, Jimmy R. Brookover, age 42, stated he was sitting on the couch when his wife Goldie, age 44, threatened him repeatedly and assailed him with a barrage of blows to the legs with a wooden crutch. Citing the consistency of Mr. Brookover’s injuries with his statement and with the observations of witnesses, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mrs. Brookover for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 28 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver they believed was impaired. Granted permission to search the vehicle by its driver, the driver and his passenger, Frederick Lee Uselton, age 39, 50510 State Route 7, New Matamoras, were also patted down for weapons. Finding marijuana and a marijuana pipe in a side pocket of Mr. Uselton, he was arrested for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 28 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Parks investigated reports of two individuals operating a vehicle in and doing doughnuts in the field adjacent to 16245 State Route 555, Bartlett. Identifying the suspects through witnesses, Deputy Parks located John K. Coe, age 19, 30 Mill Street, Vincent, and Malcolm A. McGregor, age 19, 75 High Street, Vincent, at the residence of Mr. Coe’s brother. Both suspects admitted consuming several beers then Mr. Coe conceded he drove his mother’s car, doing doughnuts in the baseball field and damaging the fence in the process. As a result Mr. McGregor was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol and Mr. Coe for underage consumption of alcohol and for criminal damaging and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 28 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Smithberger issued a citation to Jeremy S. Augenstein, age 26, 1175 County House Lane, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Deputy Smithberger stopped Mr. Augenstein on Colegate Drive near Sunset Lane in Marietta Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Donald Allan Hanshaw, age 50, 2030 Todd Avenue, Warren, OH, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Hanshaw was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 1:25 am.

Frederick Lee Uselton, age 39, 50510 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Uselton was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 3:44 am.

John Kyle Coe, age 19, 30 Mill Street, Vincent, for underage consumption of alcohol and for criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Coe was arrested in Wesley Township by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 5:00 am.

Malcolm Andrew McGregor, age 19, 75 High Street, Vincent, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. McGregor was arrested in Wesley Township by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 5:33 am.

Steven Lee Sealey, age 26, 4667 Welch Road, Little Hocking, nonsupport of dependants, a felony. Sealey was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 10:35 am.

David Michael Phillis, age 45, 2245 Clark Road, Beverly, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Phillis turned himself in to Sgt. Hiatt at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 3:00 pm.

Goldie Lynn Brookover, age 44, Drake’s Trailer Park Lot 4, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Brookover was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 7:59 pm.

Franklin Benjamin Stephens, age 61, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence. Stephens was arrested on at his residence by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 05 at 10:13 pm.
