On 17 Aug 05 Susan J. Emerick, age 41, 1770
Mount Tom Road, Marietta, reported after receiving a phone
call from a collection agency, she learned an unknown individual
in Houston, TX, used her personal information to open a wireless
account and accrue over $3,600 in charges. This case remains
under investigation (305, 905).
On 17 Aug 05 Douglas W. Johnston, age 58,
298 Kitts Road, Waterford, reported while he was away from
his home for six hours that afternoon an unknown suspect(s)
broke the passenger side rear window of his PT Cruiser. This
case remains under investigation (232).
On 17 Aug 05 a thirty year old Marietta resident
arrived at the Sheriff’s Office to report her thirteen
year old son threatened his six year old sister and six year
old cousin with a knife. Because the mother was in fear for
her safety and for that of the children Deputy Sheriff Ortiz
arrested the juvenile and transported him to the Washington
County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 17 Aug 05 while en route to a disturbance,
Lt. Canavan received information that the intoxicated suspect
left the scene in his vehicle. Lt. Canavan located the vehicle
driven by Harold Michaels, age 39, 307 Third Street, Marietta,
and was informed by dispatch his license was suspended. Speaking
with Mr. Michaels, Lt. Canavan detected an odor of alcohol
and requested Mr. Michaels perform field sobriety tests. Following
Mr. Michaels’ poor performance on the tests Lt. Canavan
arrested him for OVI and for driving under a suspended license
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 17 Aug 05 a member of the Liberty United
Brethren, 410 Sheets Road, Stockport, reported sometime over
the past three days an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered
a storage building on the church’s property and stole
a twenty-three horsepower Sears lawn tractor. This case remains
under investigation (232).
On 17 Aug 05 Homer L. Wilson, age 71, 2707
Lenore Street, Parkersburg, reported at some point during the
past four days an unknown suspect(s) cut the lock off a storage
building he owns at 510 Carson Lane, Little Hocking, and stole
two pallets of electrical wire and two jack stands. This case
remains under investigation (232).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Francisco Viermes Mendoza, age 41, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation and for violating
the terms of a protection order, both misdemeanors. Mendoza
was arrested at the Adult Parole Office by Corrections Officer
Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Aug 05 at 2:30 pm.
Harold Eugene Michaels Jr., age 42, 227 Seventh Street, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI, for driving under a suspended license and
for operating without a registration, all misdemeanors. Michaels
was arrested on Muskingum Drive by Lt. Canavan of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Aug 05 at 10:30 pm.
