THIEVES CONTINUE TO TARGET RENO AREA

Since July 12th the Investigation Section of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a rash of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Reno. Of the six premises entered, the perpetrators enter the residences through unlocked doors and windows. Once inside the thieves then steal cash from change bowls or from inside wallets and purses, sometimes making off with the entire purse or wallet. Detective Lt. Brian Schuck also attributes two criminal damaging complaints of broken windows to the thieves’ ill-fated attempts to enter the homes along with the thefts of change from three vehicles in the vicinity.

At 6:15 am this morning road units, detectives and the Sheriff’s Office’s canine unit all responded to 215 Forshey Road after the homeowner reported he was awakened by an unknown male inside his home. The Sheriff’s Office requests information from the public as to the possible owner of a camouflage Carter’s Lumber ballcap style hat (click for photo) and a long sleeve, size 16 neck, 32-33 inch blue button up shirt.
