On 9 Aug 05 Corrections Officers at the Washington
County Jail brought to a halt, a fight between inmates Matthew
L. Fourman, age 27, 1209 County House Lane, Marietta, and Dennis
R. Oakley, age 24, 424 Third Street, Marietta. Conclusive to
an investigation, CO Farrell charged Mr. Oakley with assault
for instigating the fight and charged Mr. Fourman for disorderly
conduct by fighting for wrestling his assailant to the floor.
On 9 Aug 05 Sheriff Mincks issued a citation
to Brian K. Riser, age 26, 627 Front Street, Marietta, for
reckless operation. Sheriff Mincks stopped Mr. Riser after
observing him standing on his motorcycle and driving erratically
on State Route 60 in Muskingum Township.
On 9 Aug 05 an employee of Merchants Five
Star, 18192 State Route 7, Marietta, reported during the overnight
hours the CB antennae off two semi-trucks were stolen while
parked at the business. This case remains under investigation
(232).
On 9 Aug 05 a member of the Little Hocking Church of Christ, 708 Collins Road,
Little Hocking, reported since leaving the church around 4 the previous afternoon
an unknown individual(s) shattered the door on the north side of the church
and entered the preacher’s study. At this time no items appear to be
missing. This case remains under investigation (500).
On 9 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Spencer interrupted
a family dispute between Michael Moran, age 48, 2810 State
Route 555, Little Hocking, and his son Justin, age 18. Angered
his son wouldn’t move his vehicle, Mr. Moran attempted
pushing the truck with his car. This enraged Justin who jumped
on the hood of his father’s vehicle and repeatedly kicked
the windshield. In retaliation Mr. Moran picked up a pipe and
struck the windshield of Justin’s truck. As a result
of their actions, Deputy Spencer requested a summons for each
individual for criminal damaging and for disorderly conduct.
On 9 Aug 05 Pamela S. Ritchie, age 43, 115
Forshey Road, Marietta, reported between 2 and 6:30 am that
morning an unknown suspect pushed a chair up against an outside
window, entered her home and stole cash from her purse and
from her husband’s wallet. This case remains under investigation
(1071).
On 9 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriffs Willson and Norman
were dispatched to mile marker 4.5 on Interstate 77 in reference
to a domestic violence complaint. Cynthia J. Overbee, 30 A
Street, St Albans, WV, informed the Deputies she and her estranged
husband Larry D. Lacy, age 44, 109 Second Street North, St
Albans, were traveling northbound with friends toward Longbottom
when their truck ran out of gas. When Ms. Oversee and her friend
returned from a nearby gas station Mr. Lacy instigated an argument
over the vehicle’s keys and shoved his wife to the ground
then crossed to the southbound lane. When questioned and returned
to the scene from milepost three, Mr. Lacy gave a false name
and also intentionally misidentified by Ms. Overbee stating.
In consequence Mr. Lacy was arrested for giving false information
to avoid a ticket and for domestic violence and along with
Ms. Oversee who was charged with obstructing justice, transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jeffrey Ryan Voycik, age 22, 1206 County House
Lane Apt. A, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Voycik was arrested at his residence by Probation
Officer Gilchrist and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Aug 05 at 11:05 am.
Marty Lewan Bass, age 36, 1207 County House Lane Apt. C, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Bass was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Aug 05 at 1:45 pm.
Helena Denise Riggs, age 31, 3245 State Route 530, Lowell,
for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Riggs
was picked up at the Franklin County Jail by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on
9 Aug 05 at 4:52 pm.
Larry Dean Lacy, age 44, 109 Second Street North, St Albans,
WV, for giving false information to avoid a ticket and for
domestic violence, both misdemeanors. Lacy was arrested on
Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Willson and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 05 at 5:59 pm.
Cynthia Joann Overbee, age 40, 30 A Street, St Albans, WV,
for obstructing justice, a misdemeanor. Overbee was arrested
on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Willson and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 05 at 7:39 pm.
