On 7 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Norman responded to the scene of the death of a ninety year old Marietta man. The death appears to be due to natural causes, no foul play is suspected.

On 7 Aug 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Marcos A. Robertson, age 34, 24 Home Street Apt. 902, Athens, for traveling 102 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Robertson on Interstate 77 near milepost ten in Salem Township.

On 7 Aug 05 Janet M. Reed, age 40, 571 Swift Road, Waterford, reported after an argument her husband allegedly punched through a door, threw her onto a bed and scraped her with chards of glass from a broken picture frame. An investigation by Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger concluded Mrs. Reed instigated the confrontation and was inadvertently scratched when her husband attempted to force her from damaging the picture frame.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Don Edward Groghan, age 34, 1469 Coal Run Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Groghan was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 05 at 10:05 am.

Steven Lee Sealey Jr., age 26, 4667 Welch Road, Little Hocking, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Sealey was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 05 at 11:40 am.

Dale L. McBride Jr., age 45, 15801 State route 691, Nelsonville, for driving under a suspended license, for operating with an expired license, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. McBride was arrested on Washington Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Aug 05 at 9:30 pm.
