On 1 Aug 05 while processing inmates into the Washington County Jail, Corrections Officer Cress observed inmate Chad Parsons, age 25, 11 Goose Run Road, Marietta, nervously removing his clothing in order to dress in his jail uniform. Mr. Parsons dropped a plastic bag containing tobacco, rolling papers and a lighter accidentally on the floor. When pressed further Mr. Parsons also revealed a bag containing seven green pills and four blue pills he admitted to CO Cress were Xanax. In consequence a brief detailing the drug possession and illegal conveyance of items into a correctional facility was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury consideration.

On 1 Aug 05 Sgt. Gherke responded to the scene of the death of a fifty-five year old Little Hocking resident. No foul play was involved; the man’s death was due to a lengthy illness.

On 1 Aug 05 Eric C. Nutt, 723 Winget Avenue, Harrisville, WV, reported while his 2002 GMC Envoy was parked in the parking lot of the Jug at 38090 State Route 7, Newport, the driver of a gold Buick four door struck the right front fender of his vehicle and left the scene. This incident remains under investigation (1090).

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrant:

Melissa J. Flesher, age 30, 598 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 39, Marietta, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 18 Jul 05.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron Curtis Camino, age 36, 28145 Huckleberry Road, Coolville, for OVI, a felony. Camino was arrested on Seventh Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 05 at 3:08 am.

Robert Lucky Patterson, age 22, 3641 Third Street Apt. 3, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Patterson was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 05 at 6:46 am.

David Clayton Satterfield, age 38, Route 2 Box 24C, Pennsboro, WV, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole and for two misdemeanor charges of failure to appear. Satterfield was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 05 at 9:35 am.

Everett C. Freeland, age 20, 451 Eyermann Road, Belpre, for five felony charges of breaking and entering, for three felony charges of theft, for felony charges of receiving stolen property and burglary and for a misdemeanor charge of theft. Freeland was arrested in Belpre by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 05 at 12:10 pm.
