On 31 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger
responded to the scene of an injury near 343 Main Street, Lower
Salem. Witnesses stated they were drinking beer and riding
ATV’s nearly all day when Brian D. Long, age 35, 34629
Fleeman Run Road, Lower Salem, rode off and found a short time
later lying on the ground bleeding, with the ATV’s headlights
pointing skyward. Salem Township EMS transported Mr. Long to
Marietta Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
On 31 Jul 05 Cindy Bosner, age 44, 360 Coffman
Road, Marietta, reported after an argument with her son Theodore
L. Martin II, age 25, 10 Browns Road Apt. 3B, Marietta, over
possession of a fish tank, Mr. Martin became verbally abusive
and grabbed her tightly by her wrists. Due to Mr. Martin’s
behavior Sgt. Gherke requested a summons for him for disorderly
conduct.
On 31 Jul 05 an employee of Par Mar, State
Route 7, Marietta, reported a male driving a black Pontiac
Sunfire left the business without paying for four cartons of
cigarettes. This case remains under investigation (292).
On 31 Jul 05 an employee of Warren Local Schools
reported sometime since Friday afternoon an unknown suspect
broke the glass out of a window in room 102, though it is unknown
at this time if the building was entered or anything stolen.
This case remains under investigation (500).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Steven Larry Gaspers, age 43, 265 Coopers
Ridge Road, Williamstown, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Gaspers was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 31 Jul 05 at 12:40 am.
Baxter Lee Grimes, age 28, 817 Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras,
for felony charges of burglary with the intent to inflict harm
and for violating the terms of his probation and for misdemeanor
charges of assault, driving under an FRA suspended license
and disorderly conduct by intoxication. Grimes was arrested
in New Matamoras by Chief Travaglio of the New Matamoras Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
31 Jul 05 at 2:00 am.
Clay Floyd Springer Jr., age 28, Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for escape, a felony. Springer was arrested on Maple Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
31 Jul 05 at 10:33 am.
