On 29 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger
conducted a traffic stop on State Route 7 after observing a
vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign while leaving the Grandview
Tavern. The driver Jasper J. Thomas, age 20, 2085 Leith Run
Road, New Matamoras, and passenger, Jason D. Gore, age 20,
130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, emanated alcohol admitted
consuming beer when asked. When Mr. Gore exited the vehicle
to furnish his identification Deputy Rhodes noticed a multicolored
marijuana pipe, an item Mr. Thomas admitted belonged to him.
A subsequent search of the vehicle also yielded two marijuana
pipes along with a small quantity of marijuana. Being that
Mr. Thomas performed poorly on field sobriety tests and admitted
possessing said contraband, he was charged with OVI, possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charged with
underage consumption of alcohol, Mr. Gore was transported with
Mr. Thomas to the Washington County Jail.
On 29 Jul 05 Joyce Hollingsworth, age 52,
2255 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported during the overnight
hours an unknown suspect cut the water line from the pump to
her pool, causing the water in the pool to rapidly deplete.
During the same time frame the suspect in Ms. Hollingsworth
case is also believed to be responsible for spray painting
a Mazda Protégé belonging to Ms. Hollingsworth’s
daughter Kelly Tullius, age 27, at her residence at 53 High
Street, Vincent. These cases remain under investigation (695).
On 29 Jul 05 the owner of Polymer Services
of Ohio, 18615 State Route 7, Marietta, reported two days ago
her business received and company credit card charged for a
Pitney Bowes postage machine she did not order. This case remains
under investigation (1020).

for intimidation of a witness on 25 Jul 05.
Kalitta N. Vincent, age 19, 2331 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent,
for domestic violence on 21 Jul 05.
Jed L. Lessard, PO Box 73, Marietta, for contempt
for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $169.
Jeffrey C. Voliton, age 36, 1601 19th Street, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $305.50.
Robert C. Schlicher, age 25, 219 Meigs Street, Marietta, for
contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $266.50.
Erica D. Shafer, 27360 Southgate Trailer Park Lot 1, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $118.30.
Vicky L. Riddle, age 47, 1408 Roselawn Avenue, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $279.50.
Robert E. Carpenter, age 31, 414 Ingleside Avenue, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $3,532.10.
Jerry R. Riggs, age 35, 3457 State Route 530, Lowell, for
contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $817.50.
Robert J. Brotton, age 38, 24111 State Route 564, Caldwell,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $404.30.
Andrea N. Robinson, age 19, 1915 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $344.
Robert C. Van Sycoc, age 47, 454 Wooster Road N, Barberton,
OH, for driving under a suspended license and for speeding
in a commercial vehicle on 7 Jul 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jesse Aaron Anderson, age 22, 137 Franklin
Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Anderson was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 29 Jul 05 at 5:50 am.
Steven Leroy Felter, age 33, 101 Dudley Avenue, Marietta,
for felonious assault. Felter turned himself in to Detective
Johnson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jul 05 at 8:15
am.
Chasity Dawn Willey, age 29, 1038 Gomber Avenue,
Cambridge, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Willey was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jul 05
at 11:45 am.
Bradley Gene Antill, age 26, 205 Coal Run Road Apt. A, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Antill was arrested at the County Courthouse
by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Jul 05 at 2:50 pm.
William Joseph Carter Sr., age 20, 610 Main Street, Waterford,
for felony counts of intimidation of a witness, theft and retaliation
as well as a misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing. Carter
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jul 05
at 4:45 pm.
Jason David Gore, age 20, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Gore was
arrested in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jul 05 at 11:55 pm.
