On 27 Jul 05 during a shakedown of the women’s
block at the Washington County Jail, Corrections Officers discovered
a small braided rope fashioned from a bed sheet. When questioned
as to the origin of the rope the owner stated she braided the
rope to make a hair tie by tearing sections out of a sheet
in the rag bin of the laundry room. Because the inmate did
not have permission to deface the sheet and that possessing
the rope is forbidden this case remains under investigation
(986).
On 27 Jul 05 Harry E. Schwab, age 78, 29795
State Route 7, Marietta, reported when he picked up his tractor
at Lang’s Equipment the repairman informed him a vandal
had drained all of his oil and poured three pounds of sugar
in the gas tank of his Husqvarna tractor. This case remains
under investigation (1071).
On 27 Jul 05 an employee of Hilltop Auto Wrecking,
975 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported between 5 pm the previous
afternoon and noon that day an unknown suspect stole four tires
with chrome rims off a Honda CRX at the business. This case
remains under investigation (586).
On 27 Jul 05 Davena D. Shanks, age 36, 2246
Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, reported after she ordered her boyfriend
to leave her home in the middle of April, she believes he took
her Chevy S-10 without permission and has yet to return it.
This case remains under investigation (695).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Lucas William Wharton, age 26, 508 Sixth Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Wharton was arrested on Interstate
77 by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jul
05 at 12:15 am.
Christina Marie Wilkin, age 27, 2216 Campbell Lane, Lancaster,
OH, for a felony charge of receiving stolen property and for
a misdemeanor charge of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Wilkin was arrested at Walmart by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta
City Police Department and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 Jul 05 at 2:50 am.
Scott Harrison Davis, age 42, Route 1 Box
1275, Darien, GA, for driving under a suspended license and
for speeding, both misdemeanors. Davis was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 05 at 10:45 am.
Joshuah Allen Morris, age 26, PO Box 89, Sardis, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Morris was arrested in New Matamoras by Chief Travaglio of
the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 27 Jul 05 at 10:45 pm.
