On 15 Jul 05 Clifford D. Harris, age 41, an
inmate at the Washington County Jail, reported since last replenishing
his snack supply at the jail’s commissary, two packages
of ramen noodles and two swiss cake rolls were stolen from
his storage bin. Interviewing witnesses to the theft and following
consumption of the stolen items, Corrections Officer McConnell
determined Terry L. Beacham, age 51, and Jason L. Myers, age
20, perpetrated the theft. As a result, Corrections Officers
requested summonses for both individuals for theft.
On 15 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans investigated
a domestic violence complaint at 829 Cole-Coffman Road in Marietta.
John M. Heiss, age, 38, informed Deputy Evans his wife Nina,
age 42, began accusing him of not taking proper care of their
children and an argument ensued. The confrontation continued
as Mrs. Heiss ripped the shirt off her husband, grabbed him
by the forearm and bit him, leaving visible marks. In consequence
Deputy Evans arrested Mrs. Heiss for domestic violence and
transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 15 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Jason H. Maine, age 28, 33044 State Route 260,
Graysville, for traveling left of center. Deputy Mankins stopped
Mr. Maine near milepost five on State Route 26 in Marietta
Township.
On 15 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated
a traffic stop on Briggs Hill Road after noting the license
plate light on the vehicle he was following was inoperable.
In speaking with the driver, Mark A. Myers, age 48, 183 Windy
Ridge Road, Vincent, Deputy Evans noticed Mr. Myer’s
speech was slow and lethargic and that his eyes were glassy
and bloodshot. When asked to exit the vehicle Mr. Myers threw
an object to the side of the road, which upon inspection was
a marijuana pipe. Following his poor performance on horizontal
gaze nystagmus tests Mr. Myers was arrested for OVI, for possession
of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for having a
faulty license plate light and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 15 Jul 05 Kim Molden, age 32, 114 Holiday
Drive, Reno, reported during the early hours of the previous
morning she and her husband awoke to the sound of an individual
attempting to enter their residence through a rear sliding
glass door. Then that afternoon a suspicious female appeared
on her doorstep, rang the doorbell repeatedly and turned the
doorknob. The female, under the guise of collecting donations
for college, left without further incident. This case remains
under investigation (292).
On 15 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger
were dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute at 5028
Veto Road, Vincent. Darcy L. Horner, age 44, informed the Deputies
that when her estranged husband Stephan, age 44, 5941 Veto
Road, appeared at her home to switch vehicles, he barged in
unannounced and swiped at her nose causing it to bleed. Believing
her husband was intoxicated, Mrs. Horner was in fear for her
safety and felt afraid her husband may some day kill her. As
a result of their investigation Deputy Smithberger arrested
Mr. Horner for domestic violence and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.

Jeremy G. Davis, age 23, 416 Arnold Road,
Lowell, for domestic violence on 1 Jul and on 10 Jul 05.
Eric E. Luke, age 18, 808 Eighth Street, Marietta, for the
theft of a Gameboy Advance and Gameboy games on 27 Apr 05.
Christy L. Smelko, age 23, 3133 Washington Street, Bellaire,
OH, for OVI on 22 May 05.
Donnie G. Snyder, age 45, 500 Barclay Street Apt. A, Belpre,
for operating a vehicle with fictitious registration on 24
Jun 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Stephan Neale Horner, age 44, 5941 Veto Road,
Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Horner was arrested
on Veto Road by Deputy Sheriff Smithberger and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 05 at 3:00 am.
Shelly Lynn Carpenter, age 31, Main Street, Waterford, for
telephone harassment, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested
on Third Street in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 05 at 4:19 am.
John Harold Mundt Jr., age 26, Marietta Mills
Apt. 3, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Mundt was arrested at his residence by Probation
Officer Gault and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 15 Jul 05 at 3:30 pm.
Brian Gustaf Moore, age 31, 107 Garfield Avenue, Gallipolis,
for criminal damaging/endangering, a misdemeanor. Moore was
picked up at the Gallia County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 05
at 8:00 pm.
Nina Marie Heiss, age 42, 829 Cole-Coffman Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Heiss was arrested at
her residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 05 at 9:18 pm.
