On 8 Jul 05 Sarah Sturm, age 48, 26790 State
Route 7, Marietta, reported two neighbors, with whom she has
had ongoing disputes with, aimed their semi-truck’s headlights
at her home, repeatedly blew the air horn and continually left
loud engines running in order to create a disturbance. Despite
being warned by Deputy Sheriff Willson, Rocky Allen, age 45,
1525 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, and his brother Barry,
age 49, 26780 State Route 7, Marietta, resumed their belligerent
activities. As a result Deputy Willson requested summonses
for each Allen for disorderly conduct.
On 8 Jul 05 Richard Cole, age 42, 27740 State
Route 7, Marietta, reported between 25 Jun and 8 Jul an unknown
suspect(s) forcibly entered his home and stole the components
to his home theater, two game consoles, two computers and a
digital camera were stolen from his home. This case remains
under investigation (292).
On 8 Jul 05 Jay B. Miller, age 41, 125 Miller’s
Lane Apt. A6, Marietta, reported an acquaintance allegedly
threatened to assault him while visiting his home. Following
an investigation Deputy Sheriff Willson concluded the allegation
was unfounded.
On 8 Jul 05 Juanita Lannigan, age 58, reported
while she was house sitting her son’s home at 103 Shady
Lane, Marietta, while he was on vacation, an unknown suspect
entered the home and stole his Suzuki 50cc motorcycle. This
case remains under investigation (1071, 1091).
On 8 Jul 05 Robert Shepherd, age 46, 42 Hickory
Street, Little Hocking, reported on several occasions he witnessed
a neighborhood youth spinning his tires and damaging newly
applied asphalt. This case remains under investigation (945).
On 8 Jul 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger
investigated a noise complaint at Lane Farm Campground on State
Route 26. Upon arriving the complainant informed the Deputies
that the suspects left the scene traveling northbound on 26
in a convertible Pontiac. The Deputies located the suspect
vehicle traveling at a low rate of speed and conducted a traffic
stop near Cow Run Road. While standing on the passenger side
of the vehicle Deputy Smithberger observed a backseat passenger,
Jimmy R. Waterman, age 23, 1245 Sandhill Road Lot 12, Marietta,
placing his hands near the doorframe. Prompting a search of
the passenger compartment, Deputy Smithberger discovered a
baggie of marijuana and a partially consumed bottle of Busch
Light, both of which Mr. Waterman stated were his. In consequence
Deputy Smithberger arrested Mr. Waterman for consuming alcohol
in a motor vehicle and for possession of drugs and transported
him to the Washington County Jail. Also a passenger in the
vehicle and arrested was a registered sex offender, John A.
Givens, age 24, 100 Linwood Avenue Apt. B, Marietta, for violating
the terms of his parole.

Joshua D. Martin, age 25, 3860 State Route
676, Stockport, for failing to appear to serve twenty-nine
days in jail on 17 Jun 05.
Andrew P. Allen, age 24, 1208 County House Lane, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct exhibited on 29 May 05.
Raymond E. Russell, age 29, 1026 28th Street Apt. 7, Vienna,
for driving under a suspended license on 15 Apr 05.
David W. Vanfossen, age 46, 863 Federal Road, Little Hocking,
for littering on 12 Jan 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Aaron Givens, age 24, 100 Linwood Avenue
Apt. B, Marietta, for violating the terms of his parole, a
misdemeanor. Givens was arrested on Cow Run Road by Deputy
Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 8 Jul 05 at 2:52 am.
Jimmy Ray Waterman, age 23, 1045 Sandhill Road Lot 12, Reno,
for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle and for possession
of drugs, both misdemeanors. Waterman was arrested on Cow Run
Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 8 Jul 05 at 3:11 am.
David Joseph Tatterson, age 26, 50 Washington
Square, Williamstown, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Tatterson was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta
by Probation Officer Perry and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 8 Jul 05 at 11:27 pm.
