On 5 Jul 05 Detective Schuck requested a summons
for Jamie C. Waters, age 33, 14002 State Route 339, Watertown,
for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle. Detective
Schuck requested the summons after a traffic stop he conducted
on 21 Mar 05, during which he discovered the passenger and
owner of the vehicle, Mr. Waters, had a loaded muzzleloader
in the vehicle.
On 5 Jul 05 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to
Christopher M. Anthony, age 32, 302 Palmer Drive, Parkersburg,
Vienna, for failure to register. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Anthony
near County Road 10 on State Route 7 in Warren Township.
On 5 Jul 05 Lt. Wilson and Sgt. Hiatt responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute at 101 Hanson Drive, Marietta.
Interviewing the victim, Marcia A. Stewart, age 54, Sgt. Hiatt
surmised that Mrs. Stewart’s husband Timothy, age 41,
arrived home in an intoxicated state and was verbally abusive
toward their fourteen year old daughter. Mrs. Stewart intervened,
at which time Mr. Stewart grabbed both of his wife’s
wrists and shoved her across the room. Due to Mr. Stewart’s
actions Sgt. Hiatt arrested him for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 5 Jul 05 Arlene Goodwill, age 55, 290E
Ridgewood Court, Marietta, reported sometime since 21 Jun 05
an unknown suspect(s) entered her unoccupied former residence
at 15920 State Route 821, Elba, and stole a cedar chest containing
miscellaneous clothing and three totes with antiques inside.
This case remains under investigation (905).
On 5 Jul 05 Amanda J. Hoschar, age 21, 618B
Florence Street, Belpre, reported since last visiting her storage
unit at Mini Storage of Belpre on Hocking Drive on 15 May 05
she returned to discover the lock cut off the door and two
window air conditioning units and a clothes dryer missing from
inside. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 5 Jul 05 Carolyn M. Lunsford, age 25, 85
Linden Court, Vincent, reported after returning from an Independence
Day celebration she noticed where three window screens to her
home were cut in what appeared to be an ill-fated attempt to
gain entry. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 5 Jul 05 Aneysa Dearth, age 25, 20 Walnut
Drive, Belpre, reported seventy-seven dollars was stolen from
her purse while she was working at Heartland of Marietta that
afternoon. This case remains under investigation (1091).
On 5 Jul 05 an employee of the Reno Motel,
27315 State Route 7, Marietta, reported when he returned to
the motel’s office after an hour of running errands at
Wal-Mart he noticed an unknown individual entered the office
and stole cash from a bank bag in the desk drawer along with
the cash from the motel’s cash drawer. This case remains
under investigation (1184).
On 5 Jul 05 a sixteen year old Vincent resident
reported as he and three friends walked down the middle of
Sealy Ridge Road three passengers in a passing vehicle yelled
at the group and stopped their vehicle after being taunted
in return. During the course of the confrontation the complainant
stated he was punched by his assailant. Due to conflicting
stories given by all involved, this case remains under investigation
(1203).

Office received the following warrants:
Christina G. Baker, age 24, 280 Indian Run
Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting on 21 May
05.
Grace L. Fenton, age 30, 128 Sylvan Way, Marietta, for failing
to require her dog to wear dog tags on 23 May 05.
Shawn M. Foor, age 21, 704 Butler Street, Marietta, for fishing
in the Muskingum River without a license on 13 Jun 05.
Michael D. Slonaker, age 47, 502 Broadway Avenue, New Matamoras,
for an act of domestic violence committed on 20 Jun 05.
Steven H. Sturm, age 52, 26790 State Route 7, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct on 29 May 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brandon Lee Hoffert, age 20, 1030 Market Street
Apt. 602, Parkersburg, for underage consumption of alcohol
and for resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Hoffert was arrested
in Beverly by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 05 at
12:05 am.
Michael Douglas McKinney, age 55, 364 Main
Street, Chillicothe, for violating the terms of a protection
order, a misdemeanor. McKinney was arrested on Colegate Drive
in Marietta by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 Jul 05 at 12:55 pm.
Christopher Shane Scarbro, age 32, 900 Glendale Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Scarbro
was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Perry and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 05 at 5:35
pm.
Timothy Brian Stewart, age 41, 101 Hanson Drive, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Stewart was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul
05 at 7:45 pm.
