On 27 Jun 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Smithberger responded to the scene of an altercation at 555 Eyermann Road, Belpre. The victim, James S. Campbell, age 35, informed the Deputies he was outside playing basketball with his stepson and his friend when his neighbor began yelling obscenities at the three of them. Shortly thereafter Mr. Campbell stated the neighbor’s husband, Leon Crites, age 56, 560 Eyermann Road, entered the fray and punched him in the head and mouth with a closed fist. Based on their investigation, including the accounts of witnesses, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Crites for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Jun 05 Phillip J. Wiggers, age 40, 682 Eyermann Road, Belpre, reported for the second time since May a neighbor’s cattle trod through his property, causing damage to and eating vegetables in his garden. When Sgt. Underwood arrived at the scene eight cows remained on Mr. Wiggers’ property as an employee of the cattle’s owner, Harold R. Haynes, age 46, 214 Haynes Road, Belpre, attempted to her the cattle back onto Mr. Haynes’ land. Despite Mr. Haynes’ assertion that a creek normally containing the cattle was unseasonably low Sgt. Underwood requested a summons for Mr. Haynes for allowing his cattle to remain at large.

On 27 Jun 05 Shannon F. Lannigan, age 33, 103 Shady Lane, Marietta, reported after a friend and his wife visited him at his home he noticed $360 missing from his wallet. This case remains under investigation (1020).

Barry N. Allen, age 49, 26780 State Route 7, Marietta, for disorderly conduct exhibited on 29 May 05.

Jarrod M. Bauerbach, age 25, Pennock Trailer Park Lot 63, Beverly, for two counts of contempt of court resulting from a charge of menacing.

Matthew Beck, age 33, 408 North Michigan Avenue, Wellston, OH, for fishing in the Muskingum River without a license on 28 May 05.

Pamela Carpenter, age 45, 164 Wells Avenue, Marietta, for telephone harassment on 2 Jun 05.

Timothy S. Mackey, age 24, 1247 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment.

Julie L. Ousley, age 39, 408 North Michigan Avenue, Wellston, OH, for fishing in the Muskingum River without a license on 28 May 05.

David C. Satterfield, age 38, 1201 County House Lane Apt. C, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Leon Dale Crites, age 56, 560 Eyermann Road, Belpre, for assault, a misdemeanor. Crites was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jun 05 at 1:05 am.

William Earl Crothers III, age 26, 1616 Percy Avenue, Parkersburg, for driving under a suspended license and for failure to yield, both misdemeanors. Crothers was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jun 05 at 2:10 am.

Athey Edward Lutz, age 21, 1109 Seventh Street, Parkersburg, for possession of drugs and for trafficking in drugs, both felonies. Lutz was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman Smeeks of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jun 05 at 3:25 am.

Kenneth Eugene Goff, age 44, 602 Florence Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Goff was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jun 05 at 11:30 am.

Dana Ralph Braun, age 53, 937 ½ Greene Street, Marietta, for failure to pay income tax, penalties or interest, a misdemeanor. Braun turned himself in to Patrolman Hilverding at the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jun 05 at 4:10 pm.
