On 26 Jun 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction cross the right edge line after making a sharp right turn. When questioned, Douglas D. Schaad, age 31, 181 McNeal Road, Waterford, first denied consuming alcohol but recanted when Deputy Rhodes noticed a bar stamp on his hand. Subsequent to his poor performance on field sobriety tests, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Schaad for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 26 Jun 05 Ed Sisson, age 46, 8313 State Route 144, Stewart, reported while his vehicle was parked outside the Wrangler Tavern at approximately 12:30 am, an unknown suspect broke a mirror and punched through the window of his truck. Following an investigation during which witnesses identified the suspect, Deputy Sheriff Evans requested a summons for John Hoy, age 27, 906 Fifth Street, Marietta, for criminal damaging.

On 26 Jun 05 Jennifer L. Scott, 7350 Marion Street, Chesterhill, reported while her Volkswagen Jetta was parked at the Valley Inn an unknown vehicle struck hers, causing damage to the driver’s side door. This incident remains under investigation (1184).

On 26 Jun 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted a traffic stop near Applegate Drive on State Route 60 after observing a vehicle fail to dim its high beams as it passed. When questioned, Jerry Stover, age 37, 2471 Hickman Road, Waterford, admitted consuming alcohol prior to the traffic stop. Mr. Stover performed poorly on field sobriety tests, was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 26 Jun 05 Cheryl E. Blair, 2425 Fifteenmile Creek Road, Marietta, reported subsequent to leaving the rear tire of her Chrysler Lebaron on a jack the previous day, she returned later to discover the vehicle had been knocked off the jack and damage to the rear bumper. This incident remains under investigation (1184).

On 26 Jun 05 Michael A. York, age 20, 41985 Colburn Road, Shade, OH, reported he rebuffed an invitation to fight by Derek S. Steward, age 18, 1913 Community Club Road, Wingett Run, Mr. Steward entered his truck and began punching the dash, causing damage to Mr. York’s stereo. Confirming Mr. York’s statement with witnesses, Deputy Evans requested a summons for Mr. Steward for criminal damaging.

On 26 Jun 05 a thirty-two year old Waterford resident reported after he denied his fifteen year old son’s request to leave the home, his son allegedly punched him in the mouth. This case remains under investigation (200).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Terry Gilbert Dalton, age 39, 1313 Jewett Drive, Zanesville, for possession of drugs, a felony. Dalton was arrested in Marietta by Corrections Officer Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 12:02 am.

Jeffrey Lee Stover, age 37, 2471 Hickman Road, Waterford, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Stover was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 3:00 am.

Douglas David Schaad, age 31, 181 McNeal Road, Waterford, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Schaad was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 3:29 am.

Jessica Dawn Strode, age 20, 56 Ullman Street, Beverly, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanors. Strode was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 4:35 am.

Richard Dean Bailey, age 49, 10265 State Route 555, Barlow, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Ortiz and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 9:15 am.

Barry Noel Allen, age 49, 26780 State Route 7, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Allen was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 8:00 pm.

Charlotte Ann Brooks, age 47, 717 Greene Street Apt. A, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Brooks was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 8:00 pm.

Elizabeth Ann Horton, age 46, 2035 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Horton was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Smithberger and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 8:20 pm.

Matthew Richard Jett, age 20, 209 Fifth Street Ext., Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Jett was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 05 at 9:00 pm.
