On 22 Jun 05 an employee of Newport IGA, 38140
State Route 7, Newport, reported on 2 and 6 May the business
received two bad checks from the same individual totaling $800.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 22 Jun 05 Lt. Huffer initiated a traffic
stop after receiving a tip concerning an intoxicated driver
operating a 1999 black Mustang. Locating the driver as he pulled
into Go Mart and began to pump gas, Lt. Huffer questioned David
W. Hensler, age 27, 30155 State Route 7, Marietta. Mr. Hensler
admitted consuming three shots of whiskey in the past three
hours and was unsteady as he stood. Along with being issued
citations for driving under an OVI suspended license and for
operating with expired tags, Lt. Huffer arrested Mr. Hensler
for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 22 Jun 05 Francie L. Wilson, age 44, 2720
Beach Drive Apt. 1, Belpre, reported four tires and rims she
had positioned for sale near her mailbox were stolen between
6:30 Tuesday evening and noon Wednesday. This case remains
under investigation (232).
On 22 Jun 05 Florence C. Dearth, age 86, 5001
State Route 60, Marietta, reported since adding five hundred
dollars in cash to her purse Monday afternoon, she discovered
at noon Wednesday the cash was stolen. This case remains under
investigation (200).
The following individual
wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Donald Eugene Banks, age 46, 1424 Barth Road,
Belpre, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole
and for two counts of felonious assault. Banks was picked up
at the Franklin County Jail by Probation Officer Smith and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jun 05 at 3:15
pm.
