On 21 Jun 05 Sgt. Underwood investigated a
domestic dispute between William C. Matheney, age 63, and his
son William J., age 20, at their residence at 42 Haas Drive,
Stockport. The elder Matheney stated he was sitting in a chair
outside the residence when his son accosted him and threatened
to punch him because he would not return a sum of money his
son gave him the night before to purchase gasoline and oil.
Determining the father was in fear for his safety Sgt. Underwood
arrested the son for domestic violence and transported him
to the Washington County Jail.
On 21 Jun 05 an employee of Oxbow Golf Course,
500 Saint Andrews Boulevard, Belpre, reported between 9:30
Sunday evening and 10 Monday morning an unknown suspect took
a golf cart and rammed into a granite tee marker, destroying
the tee marker and damaging the golf cart. This case remains
under investigation (232).
On 21 Jun 05 Mike Murphy, age 53, 15281 State
Route 60, Lowell, reported between midnight and 7 that morning
an unidentified suspected damaged the windshield of his Oldsmobile
Achieva using a baseball bat or other blunt object. This case
remains under investigation (586).
On 21 Jun 05 an employee of CSX Railroad,
Main Street, Waterford, reported since last visiting the business
on 14 Jun, he returned to find the window of a ballast regulator
broken. This case remains under investigation (232).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jeffrey Allen Viars, age 48, 149 Sun Valley
Drive, Gallipolis, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Viars
turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office to Deputy Sheriff
Willson and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 Jun 05 at 9:00 am.
Jason Todd Bailey, age 29, 12260 State Route
550, Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, for aggravated trespassing and for two counts
of aggravated menacing, all misdemeanors. Bailey was arrested
at the Second Street Speedway in Marietta by Patrolman Heddleston
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 05 at 1:30 pm.
Gary Bruce Johnson, age 47, 168 Murphy Road, Amesville, for
disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested in
Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 Jun 05 at 4:10 pm.
Shane Keller O’Brien, age 31, 2302 ½ Richmiller
Lane, Belpre, for domestic violence, a felony. O’Brien
was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 21 Jun 05 at 6:05 pm.
William Joseph Matheny, age 20, 42 Haas Drive, Stockport,
for domestic violence by threat of force, a misdemeanor. Matheny
was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Jun 05 at 6:40 pm.
