On 6 Jun 05 Pamela D. Carpenter, age 45, 164 Wells Avenue, Marietta, reported while she was camping with a friend near Devol’s Dam the prior evening, her friend suddenly entered a violent tirade, commencing in choking, punching and holding a knife to her neck. This incident remains under investigation (296).

On 6 Jun 05 Mike Carpenter, age 33, 8395 County Road 9, Newport, reported while inspecting a rental property at 55 Greenhill Road, Marietta, he observed a hole in a window that he believes were caused by a pellet gun. This case remains under investigation (597).

DRUG TEAM ARRESTS TWO FOR TRAFFICKING IN FENTANYL

On 3 Jun 05 members of the Washington County Drug Team arrested Robert J. Becker Jr. (click for photo), age 60, 1023 Greene Street, Marietta, and Miriam J. Sergent, age 43, 1023 Greene Street, Marietta, for trafficking in the opiate-based drug, Fentanyl. The Drug Team purchased a gel-like substance, later chemically identified as Fentanyl, at the residence of Mr. Becker and Ms. Sergent. A Schedule II controlled substance, the biological effects of Fentanyl are indistinguishable from those of heroin, with the exception that Fentanyl may be hundreds of times more potent. Fentanyls are most commonly used by intravenous administration, but like heroin, they may also be smoked or snorted. Fentanyl is utilized locally when Heroin and/or OxyContin are not available.

Taken into custody without incident, the duo is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond at the Washington County Jail.

Lee Anna Newbanks, age 22, 1588 Federal Road, Little Hocking, for violating her community control, having been convicted of arson.

Nicholas A. Kaptis, age 27, 33 South Park Villa, Parkersburg, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause o.0n 9 May 05.

Larry E. Patton, age 34, 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY, for failure to appear upon being indicted for breaking and entering and theft.

William W. Cassady, age 26, 209 Poplar Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.

Nathan W. Davis, age 18, 2011 Washington Boulevard Apt. 6, Belpre, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $175.50.

Everett C. Freeland, age 20, 2116 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, for the theft of a tire and a wheel from Veto Motors on 1 Mar 05.

Celena K. Hardie, age 25, 104 Riley Drive Apt. 8, Marietta, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $384.80.

John L. Hodge, age 19, 3623 Packard Street Apt. 22, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.

Cheyenne E. Riddle, age 24, 189 Fourth Street, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.

Sonya L. Weaver, age 18, 2904 Tenth Avenue, Vienna, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $453.70.

Nicole L. Weekly, age 27, 411 Florence Street, Belpre, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $386.10.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Eric David Noland, age 31, 60 Wrights Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Noland was arrested on Wrights Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 05 at 12:17 am.

Daniel Edward Christopher, age 29, 975 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, for two counts of violating the terms of a protection order and for failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Christopher was arrested on Colegate Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Titus of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 05 at 2:12 pm.

Jason Robert Grady, age 28, 409 Maple Street, Marietta, a fugitive from justice, a felony. Grady was arrested at Selby Hospital by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 05 at 2:15 pm.

Paul Ray Wilson Jr., age 27, 531 47th Street, Bellaire, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Wilson was picked up in Belmont County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 05 at 3:00 pm.

Keith Edward Davis, age 51, 832 Front Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Davis was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 05 at 4:55 pm.
