On 25 May 05 Joseph W. Rauch, age 42, 336
Henny Locust Square, Lancaster, PA, reported while he was at
his mother’s home at 13050 State Route 676, Watertown,
he and his brother waved at a newspaper deliveryman, prompting
the deliveryman to stop and exit his vehicle with a hatchet
or hammer-type implement. Despite being ordered to leave the
property, Ronald L. Morehouse, age 22, 2240 Ames Avenue, Belpre,
remained and made several threatening remarks. Determining
Mr. Morehouse was driving under suspension and that he was
on property without being given permission, Deputy Kapple placed
him under arrest and transported him to the Washington County
Jail.
On 25 May 05 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded
to the scene of a deer-vehicle collision near milepost seven
on Interstate 77. James A. Cowherd, age 68, 936 George Street,
East Liverpool, OH, was not injured when he struck the deer
while traveling southbound on Interstate 77. Mr. Cowherd’s
Chevy Monte Carlo rental car sustained only light damage.
On 25 May 05 Deputy Sheriff Kapple investigated
a complaint concerning a two year old child playing outside
naked in fifty-five degree weather at 435 Calder Ridge Road
Belpre. After Deputy Kapple pounded on doors and windows for
five minutes, the child’s mother, Mary Wilson, age 24,
answered the door and responded that she took sleeping pills
the night before and had been asleep the entire time her son
was outside that morning. Based on the results of his interview,
Deputy Kapple requested a summons for Ms. Wilson for child
endangerment.
On 25 May 05 the principal of Bartlett Elementary
School, 2035 State Route 550, Cutler, reported a custodian
found a marijuana plant growing in the school’s garden.
Deputy Sheriff Kapple recovered the plant for later destruction.
On 25 May 05 Stephanie R. Brown, age 47, Route
2 Box 228B, Lowell, reported when she visited her vacationing
father’s home at 585 Coal Run Road, Coal Run, she noticed
an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the home, ransacked
every room, threw frozen food from the freezer onto the floor
and stole a jar of loose change. This case remains under investigation
(205).
On Wednesday 25 May 05 at approximately 9:00
p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received
a call from Richard T. Cain, age 73, Davlin Lake Lot 43,
Vincent, OH concerning a domestic dispute which was in progress.
Cain
indicated that shots had been fired at him. Further investigation
revealed Patricia G. Cadle, age 59, 513 Myrtle Street, Parkersburg,
WV had forcible entered the residence at Davlin Lake and
pointed a 25 caliber automatic at Richard T. Cain and his
companion
Sharon A. Sweat, age 59, of 9129 SR 60, McConnelsville, OH.
Both Cain and Sweat were in fear of their safety. Sweat managed
to escape from the premises and Cain was able to lock Cadle
out of the trailer. Cadle then forcible attempted to enter
the residence, but was unable to do so. Cadle fired one shot
into the trailer; left the scene temporarily; return and
fired two more shots into the trailer one of which penetrated
the
wall. Cadle was arrested and is being held in the Washington
County Jail in lieu of $136,000.00 bond.
On Wednesday 25 May 05 at 11:00 p.m. the Washington
County Sheriff Office executed a search warrant at the residence
of Charles Brunty, age 42, 5037 SR 555, Little Hocking, OH.
The warrant was in conjunction with the West Virginia State
Police concerning the recovery of certain property which had
allegedly been stolen in Parkersburg. After entry into the
residence, Brunty barricaded himself in a back bedroom with
his fourteen year old daughter and refused to allow officers
entry. Before entering the bedroom Brunty self inflicted a
gunshot wound to his head. The fourteen year old was physically
unharmed. Brunty was the subject of investigation from several
different agencies in West Virginia.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Allyson Patricia Hensler, age 43, 921 Front
Street, Marietta, for two felony charges of trafficking in
drugs. Hensler was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by
Detective Wright of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 May 05 at 1:20
am.
Jermaine Eugene Hunter, age 30, 1225 Smith Road, Columbus,
for two felony charges of trafficking in drugs. Hunter was
arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Detective Wright of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 25 May 05 at 1:20 am.
