On 21 May 05 Deputy Sheriffs Stackpole and
Norman met with Michele Hupp, age 32, 217 Fourth Street, Beverly,
at her friend’s home , during which time Ms. Hupp stated
she and her live-in boyfriend, Benjamin D. Caplinger, age 34,
engaged in a domestic dispute. Ms. Hupp elaborated that after
arguing with him the previous evening, Mr. Caplinger yelled
at her and pushed her against the kitchen table, causing her
to be in fear for her safety. As a result, Deputy Norman arrested
Mr. Caplinger for domestic violence and transported him to
the Washington County Jail.
On 21 May 05 Wesley Gibson, age 71, 836 Pike
Street Apt. 3, Marietta, reported at 1:20 am that morning
his former caretaker Christina G. Baker, age 23, 280 Indian
Run
Road, Marietta, entered his residence and immediately began
hitting his current caretaker who was sleeping on the couch.
Ms. Baker then entered his bedroom and yelled at him before
striking him several time with a remote control. Due to Ms.
Baker’s actions Deputy Sheriff Parks requested a summons
for her to appear in court for disorderly conduct.
On 21 May 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop after observing the vehicle he was following
travel left of the centerline on two occasions. When questioned,
Floyd W. Slonaker, age 58, 6355 State Route 260, New Matamoras,
admitted consuming four beers and submitted to field sobriety
tests. Subsequent to his poor performance on field sobriety
tests, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Slonaker for OVI and for
driving left of center and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 21 May 05 Carolyn Shriver, age 56, 84 Sealy
Ridge Road, Little Hocking, reported an acquaintance punctured
the front left tire of her Ford Explorer following an argument
at a party the two attended. Ms. Shriver declined to pursue
the matter further (586).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Dick Hall, age 40, 95 Lindamood Road, Macksburg,
for OVI, for driving left of center and for possession of drugs,
all misdemeanors. Hall was arrested near milepost twenty on
State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 05 at 3:24 am.
Floyd William Slonaker, age 58, 6355 State Route 260, New
Matamoras, for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Slonaker was arrested in Beavertown by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 05
at 4:25 am.
Benjamin David Caplinger, age 34, 217 Fourth Street, Beverly,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Caplinger was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 21 May 05 at 10:30 am.
