On 20 May 05 a thirteen year old Little Warren
Elementary School student reported another male student allegedly
exposed himself to her. After interviewing all of the parties
involved Deputy Sheriff Evans determined the incident did not
take place as described.
On 20 May 05 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Bruce S. Gearhart, age 42, 195 North Bruce Street, Little
Hocking, for having a tinted license plate covers concealing
a yellow OVI tag. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Gearhart on State
Route 618 near State Route 339 in Belpre Township.
On 20 May 05 Lt. Huffer began an investigation
into threats made by a seventeen year old Warren High School
student toward another sixteen year old student. On several
occasions the sixteen year old victim and two teachers reported
the seventeen year old stated he would cause bodily harm to
the victim in retaliation for her reporting prior transgressions
toward her. As a result of his investigation Lt. Huffer requested
a summons for the seventeen year old to appear in juvenile
court for being delinquent.
On 20 May 05 Deputy Sheriffs Mankins and McLeish
responded to a domestic dispute at 125 Warner Second Street
in Lower Salem. Ruth M. Francis, age 54, expounded that her
husband Samuel, age 48, was intoxicated and told her he was
going to tear up the house and knock her block off. Determining
Mrs. Francis was in fear for her safety, Deputy Mankins arrested
Mr. Francis for domestic violence and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.
On 20 May 05 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued a
citation to Dustin K. Venham, age 24, 1060 Sugar Run Road,
Marietta, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy
Parks stopped Mr. Venham after he observed him fail to stop
when turning onto Devol’s Dam Road from Chamberlain Drive
in Muskingum Township.
On 20 May 05 the owner of L & J Rentals,
State Route 550, Marietta, reported he believes a tenant who
failed to pay her bill forcibly removed a lock from her storage
building. This case remains under investigation (1090).
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Andrew T. Hatzer, age 25, address unknown,
for failure to register a change of address as a registered
sex offender.
Amy Roser, age 28, 628 Phillips Street, Marietta, for failure
to appear in Juvenile Court on 10 May 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Lincoln Theiss II, age 34, Route 7 Box
65, Marietta, for OVI for failure to reinstate his operator’s
license, for speeding and for contempt of a court order, all
misdemeanors. Theiss was arrested in Reno by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 20 May 05 at 3:02 am.
Samuel Wesley Francis, age 48, 125 Warner
Second Street, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Francis was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 May 05
at 7:00 pm.
