On 11 May 05 Deputy Sheriff McLeish issued
a citation to Charles D. Martin II, age 18, 2411 Rockland Avenue,
Belpre, for not wearing a seat belt and for reckless operation.
Deputy McLeish stopped Mr. Martin on State Route 676 after
observing him pull along side another vehicle across a double
yellow line in Marietta Township.
On 11 May 05 Laurel J. Sims, age 33, 4844
Anderson Road, Fleming, reported after receiving a phone call
from Amazon.com, she learned an unauthorized individual was
using her credit card to make purchases online without her
permission. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 11 May 05 Ted W. Lane, age 57, 575 Wynncrest
Drive, Marietta, reported when he arrived at his business,
Lane’s Farm Market, at 20620 State Route 676, Marietta,
that morning he noticed pry marks on the front door and that
the latch was broken off the side door of the business. This
case remains under investigation (232).
On 11 May 05 Misty D. Smith, age 26, 2450
Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported an individual against
whom she has a protection order allegedly phoned her at her
boyfriend’s residence. Since Ms. Smith’s boyfriend
is also the ex-boyfriend of the suspect and the father of her
child, Lt. Canavan determined no criminal act transpired.
On 11 May 05 the chief of the Dunham Township
Volunteer Fire Department reported a former member of the department
allegedly stole a set of fire boots and coat from the department.
This case remains under investigation (698).

Anthony E. Boswell, age 24, 709 Wayne Street
Apt. A, Marietta, for failure to appear upon a pending indictment
Patricia A. Jones, age 28, 321 Sixth Street, Marietta, for
failure to appear upon a pending indictment for theft.
Donald E. Banks, age 46, 1424 Barth Road, Belpre, for failure
to appear upon a pending indictment for felonious assault.
individual was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael David Blind, age 26, 12212 Sealy Ridge
Road, Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Blind was arrested in Beverly
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 May 05 at 3:25 pm.
