On 10 May 05 Robert E. West, age 61, 6550
State Route 530, Lowell, reported while he was working along
Peaker Run Road in Lower Salem he observed three bags of rubbish
dumped in a nearby creek. This case remains under investigation
(695).
On 10 May 05 Sally Lerch, age 33, 401 Lewis
Point Drive, Vincent, reported at some point since 25 Apr 05,
an unknown suspect(s) cut the locks off her business’ tool
storage shed at 2058 Rocky Point Road and stole two cordless
drills, two framing guns, a generator, an air compressor, three
roofing guns, two ladders and a concrete saw. This case remains
under investigation (500).
On 10 May 05 Cindy L. Hendershot, age 44,
47A Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, reported observing her
husband Donald, age 43, against whom she has a protection order,
in the tree line thirty feet behind her home dressed in camouflage,
pointing a video camera in her direction. Unable to locate
Mr. Hendershot, Lt. Canavan requested a warrant for him for
violating the terms of a protection order.
ARREST CONCERNING CAR BREAKING AND ENTERINGS
Detectives and Deputies of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office arrested a seventeen year old
Marietta youth who confessed to being involved in numerous “car
shopping” incidents throughout Washington County. The
youth characterized his activities as “car shopping” in
that they just went from car to car looking for a car with
its doors unlocked. Areas affected were Devola, Reno, Vincent,
Lower Salem and the west side of Marietta. All items of value
taken were either fenced in cities outside of the area or thrown
into the Muskingum River or Duck Creek to avoid fingerprint
detection. Divers from the Sheriff’s Office will attempt
to recover these items in the near future. Items being thrown
in the water include chain saws, flashlights, CD'S and several
guns. The youth and his accomplices are also responsible for
the theft of a truck and a car from the Lower Salem area. Officers
are currently seeking two other youths who were involved in
the incidents and anticipate additional arrests in the near
future.

Melinda D. Adelson, age 23, 806 Franklin Street,
Belpre, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $175.50.
Tony L. Brookover, age 39, 817 Masonic Park Road Lot 5, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $314.60.
Shane F. Carpenter, age 33, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 5F,
New Matamoras, for contempt for failing to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $118.30.
Dorothy J. Henthorn, age 36, 504 ½ Main Street, New
Matamoras, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $265.20.
Charles D. McFann, age 41, 3664 Coolville Station Road, Coolville,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $243.10.
Aubrey G. Radcliffe, age 48, 4000 Walburn Avenue, Cleveland,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $862.
Anthony C. Smith, age 50, 1922 Seventh Street Apt. 2, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $286.
Charles E. Walker, age 26, 3936 State Route 550, Cutler, for
contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $989.30.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Marc Jaeger Lewis, age 37, 518 Smith Street,
Marietta, for OVI and for endangering children, both misdemeanors.
Lewis was arrested on Murphy’s Alley in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 May 05 at 3:45 am.
Bonnie Jo Grinnell, age 44, 27400 State Route
7, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Grinnell was arrested at her residence by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10
May 05 at 4:51 pm.
