On 29 Apr 05 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Parks
responded to an active domestic dispute involving a gun at
20 Stacy Orchard Road, Marietta. When the Deputies arrived
John T. McLaughlin, age 41, no longer had the shotgun, which
was later learned to be unloaded. Witnesses, including Mr.
McLaughlin’s live-in girlfriend Teresa Jewell, age 41,
stated he was intoxicated and threatened to shoot himself and
her. Determining Ms. Jewell and her son were in fear for their
safety, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. McLaughlin for two counts
of domestic violence and for having a weapon while intoxicated
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 29 Apr 05 an employee of Gasel Transportation,
741 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported at 9:30 p.m. the previous
evening and 7:30 a.m. that morning an unknown suspect broke
into the business and stole a laptop computer from a second
floor office. This case remains under investigation (1071).
On 29 Apr 05 Jane Stone, age 84, 9050 Dalzell
Road, Lower Salem, reported an individual whose services she
has contracted in the past allegedly stole $1,200 in shingles
from outside her home. This case remains under investigation
(292).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jason Edward Reeves, age 34, 533 Second Street,
Marietta, for driving under a suspended licene, a misdemeanor.
Reeves was arrested on Pike Street by Lt. Canavan of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Apr 05 at 2:45 am.
Deane Allen Beck Jr., age 25, 1008 30th Street, Parkersburg,
for two felony charges of rape. Beck was arrested on Colonial
Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
29 Apr 05 at 7:30 am.
Samuel Emmitte Jenkins, age 45, 103 Chapel
Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Jenkins
was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman Hively
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 05 at 2:00 pm.
Joshua Corey Mayle, age 23, 1890 Main Street, Stockport, for
receiving stolen property, for menacing and for breach of recognizance,
all misdemeanors. Mayle was picked up in McConnelsville by
Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 05 at 9:08
pm.
John Thomas McLaughlin, age 41, Marietta, for two counts of
domestic violence and for using a weapon while intoxicated,
all misdemeanors. McLaughlin was arrested on Stacy Orchard
Road by Deputy Sheriff Parks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Apr 05 at 10:50 pm.
