On 17 Apr 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 339 near Davis Road. In speaking with the driver, Douglas D. Stephens, age 46, 2954 Warrior Drive, Vincent, Deputy Rhodes detected an odor of alcohol and noticed a twelve pack of beer on the floor and upon closer inspection, located two empty cans under the driver’s seat. Too intoxicated in Mr. Stephens’ state to perform field sobriety tests and based on his observations, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Douglas for OVI as well as for speeding and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 17 Apr 05 James K. Eddy, age 50, 4075 Burnett Road, Cutler, reported on some occasion since 15 Mar 05, an unknown suspect(s) entered his home, removed the beer from his refrigerator and stole a Marlin .22 caliber rifle. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 17 Apr 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted a traffic stop on Montgomery Street in Marietta after observing a vehicle with inoperable taillights. When he approached the driver, Seth L. Jackson, age 21, 2414 Waterford Road, Marietta, Deputy Evans noticed a marijuana pipe on the floorboard between Mr. Jackson’s legs. Admitting the pipe was his, Mr. Jackson was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Seth Lee Jackson, age 21, 2414 Waterford Road, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested on Fourth Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 05 at 12:55 am.

Douglas Dean Stephens, age 46, 295 Warrior Drive, Vincent, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Stephens was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Apr 05 at 2:00 am.
