On 29 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Matt Simmons responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute at 35785 State Route 7,
Newport. Meghan D. Dalrymple, age 25, stated the previous evening
after she told her live-in boyfriend Nicholas L. Sardonis,
age 41, she no longer loved him, he became violent. Mr. Sardonis
then followed Ms. Dalrymple into the kitchen, threw milk and
soda all over her, grabbed her hair and slammed her into the
microwave. Alarmed, the couple’s six year old daughter
attempted to intervene but was pushed across the room by Mr.
Sardonis. Mr. Sardonis clutched Ms. Dalrymple by the neck and
threatened her before releasing her and breaking the phone
off the wall. Based on his investigation, Deputy Simmons arrested
Mr. Sardonis for two felony counts of domestic violence and
transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 29 Mar 05 the owner of Warren’s Body
Shop, Vincent, reported because his contractor allegedly wrote
a bad check to the Washington County Building Department, he
was forced to cover the $830.18 or face ceasing construction.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 29 Mar 05 a member of the Dunham Township
Volunteer Fire Department, 5770 Veto Road, Belpre, reported
between 8:30 Monday night and 3:40 Tuesday afternoon an unknown
suspect(s) broke a window to the firehouse and stole two new
Kenwood portable radios from inside. This case remains under
investigation (684).
WARRANTS ISSUED FOR CAR THEFT SUSPECTS
As a result of an ongoing investigation involving
the entering of and subsequent theft of items from over fifty
vehicles in and around Lowell, Reno, Vincent and Beverly, Oh,
Detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
requested warrants for William
Joseph Carter Sr., age 20, 610 Main Street, Waterford,
and Justin Cline, age 18, 184 Dawes Circle, Marietta. Tracing
the chain of possession of a car amplifier stolen from a vehicle
in Beverly, Detectives determined Mr. Cline stole the amplifier
and then traded it to and informed Mr. Carter the amplifier
was stolen. When questioned by Detectives Mr. Carter confirmed
the amplifier was received from Mr. Cline and that he knew
it was stolen at the time.
Mr. Carter was served with the warrant while
a prisoner at the Washington County Jail. At this time the
whereabouts of Mr. Cline are unknown. Cline is 5’ 7” tall,
weighs 140 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone
with information concerning his location is requested to call
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 740-376-7070.
The investigation into the theft of other items from the other
vehicles is continuing.

Office received the following warrants:
Charles M. Biehl, age 41, 600 Tick Hill Road,
Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
to attend/complete counseling and for failing to appear for
a scheduled appointment on 15 Mar 05 as ordered by the court.
Charles C. Rose, age 24, 43459 State Route 26, Woodsfield,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to obtain
a valid operator’s license by 15 Mar 05 as ordered by
the court.
Douglas E. Smith, age 33, 413 1/3 Third Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to attend/complete
a Driver’s Intervention Program and for failing to
appear for a scheduled appointment on 2 Mar 05 as ordered
by the court.
Stephen P. Wagner, age 35,37321 State Route 145, Lower Salem,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to make
regularly schedule fine payments and for failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment on 1 Mar 05 as ordered by the court.
Aaron L. Winer, age 20, 3335 Glamorgan Court, Charlotte, NC,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on an order to show cause on 14 Mar 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Lewis Leibrand, age 41, 2914 Washington
Boulevard, Belpre, for two counts of OVI, for not wearing a
seat belt and for failure to register, all misdemeanors. Leibrand
was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Morris
of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 29 Mar 05 at 10:35 am.
Mary Ann Haught, age 48, 1225 County House Lane, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Haught was arrested at her residence
by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Mar 05
at 7:25 pm.
Nicholas Louis Sardonis, age 35785 State Route 7, Newport,
for two felony charges of domestic violence. Sardonis was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 29 Mar 05 at 7:30 pm.
Becky Kay Smith, age 35, 95 Sandhill Road Apt. 4, Marietta,
for pandering obscenity involving a minor and for illegal use
of a minor in nudity, both felonies. Smith was arrested at
her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29
Mar 05 at 9:10 pm.
