On 25 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued a
citation to Glenna M. Blair, age 25, 802 Front Street Apt.
1, Marietta, operating with an expired license and for operating
without license plates. Deputy Parks stopped Ms. Blair on Camelot
Drive near Ayers Boulevard in Dunham Township.
On 25 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans conducted
a traffic stop on State Route 821 after observing the vehicle
he was following travel to the right of the edge line several
times. Having admitted consuming alcohol earlier in the evening
and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, Deputy Evans
arrested Robert G. Price, age 33, 515 Main Street, Caldwell,
for OVI and for driving under a suspended license and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 Mar 05 Raymond Buttie, age 42, 1218
Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, reported receiving a phone
call from Sharon L. Hinkle, age 49, 1200 Park Avenue, New Matamoras,
in violation of a temporary protection order. In consequence,
Deputy Sheriff McLeish located and arrested Ms. Hinkle for
violating the terms of a protection order and transported her
to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 Mar 05 Martin D. Gibbs, age 39, 28790
State Route 7, Marietta, reported between 2 am and 6 am that
morning an unknown suspect broke the window of his Nissan truck
a stole his Pioneer CD player from inside. This case remains
under investigation (1020).
SPECIAL NEWS RELEASE FOR FRIDAY 25 MAR 05
On March 23, 2005, an investigation into a
hit-skip collision that took place on State Route 550 led Ohio
State Highway Patrol Trooper Steve Wetz and Deputy Sheriff
Matt Simmons to a residence located at 704 Second Street in
Marietta. Trooper Wetz made contact with the occupants of the
suspect vehicle, being Robert Powers, age 35, and Jason Hendrickson,
age 25. As the suspects walked out of the house officers smelled
a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside the residence.
Called to assist, members of the Washington County Drug Team
obtained written permission to search the residence from Mr.
Powers and Mr. Hendrickson. During the search, the Drug Team
recovered over a pound of marijuana, several articles of drug
paraphernalia as well as eleven marijuana plants that were
growing in the residence. While no arrests were made at the
time, the Drug Team will submit the evidence to the Prosecuting
Attorney’s Office for possible Grand Jury consideration.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Andrew Charles Leonard, age 34, 445 Lakeview
Drive, Vincent, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Leonard was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman
Douglas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 05 at 9:05 am.
Natalie Sue Weckbacher, age 21, 13480 State
Route 60, Lowell, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Weckbacher was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Ketelsen and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 25 Mar 05 at 4:10 pm.
Robert Gregory Price, age 32, 515 Main Street, Caldwell, for
.08 breath OVI and for driving under an FRA suspended license,
both misdemeanors. Price was arrested on State Route 821 by
Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 25 Mar 05 at 11:00 pm.
Sharon Louise Hinkle, age 49, Aldeco Motel, New Matamoras,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Hinkle was arrested in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff McLeish
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 05
at 11:05 pm.
