On 22 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Norman responded
to an incident at Pioneer Chevrolet, 1315 Pike Street, Marietta,
in which the driver of a tractor-trailer delivering vehicles
to the lot struck a low hanging telephone wire. The tension
on the temporary wire strung to a new building, caused four
poles to fracture, two of which fell onto a Cadillac Escalade
and a Chevy truck in the sales lot. No injuries were reported.
On 22 Mar 05 John W. Byer, age 71, 110 Alden
Avenue, Marietta, reported since he walked his dog at 1:30
am, he awoke later that morning to discover a quantity of loose
change stolen from both his Chevy S-10 parked outside and his
Lincoln Continental parked inside his unlocked garage. This
case remains under investigation (1184).
On 22 Mar 05 Michael A. Francis, 422 Holdren
Road, Little Hocking, reported while he was away from his home,
a sixteen year old friend of his daughter took his Ford F-350
which contained a forty-five caliber pistol along with ninety-four
dollars from his daughter’s room. Mr. Francis’ daughter
believes her friend was en route to Kentucky to contact his
mother. Reported a runaway by his father the day before, Deputy
Sheriff Malone requested a summons for the juvenile for being
delinquent.
On 22 Mar 04 Ted W. Lane, age 57, 575 Wynncrest
Drive, Marietta, reported for the past several months there
he has had an ongoing problem with people disposing of trash
in his business’ dumpster without permission. This case
remains under investigation (695).
On 22 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriffs Evans and Norman
along with Detective Sirianni began an investigation into the
thefts of loose change, a checkbook, credit and debit cards,
a CD player and CD’s from vehicles on Alden Avenue, Nolan
Circle, Masonic Park Road and Wyandotte Drive in Devola. This
case remains under investigation.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Jason J. Corp, age 31, 20 Hopman Road, Whipple,
for second offense OVI and for failing to pay fines or to appear
to serve three days in jail as ordered by the court.
Myrtle Holly, age 70, 325 First Street, Macksburg, for failing
to file an application for registering a dog on 12 Jan 05.
Cheyenne Riddle, age 24, PO Box 78 Fourth Street, Lowell,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment on 7 Mar 05, for failing to appear
to serve three days in jail on 4 Mar 05 and for second offense
OVI on 19 Jan 05.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Joseph Hile, age 56, 1961 Mayflower Circle,
Grove City, OH, for second offense OVI, misdemeanor. Hile was
arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Deputy Sheriff Evans
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 05
at 9:55 am.
Terry Lee Hagan, age 42, 3112 96th Street, Cleveland, for
contempt of a court order and for breach of recognizance, both
felonies. Hagan was picked up at the South Central Regional
Jail in West Virginia by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 05 at 2:00 pm.
Christopher Douglas White, age 20, 8 Quick Road, Elkview,
WV, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. White
was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Newell
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 05 at 3:05 pm.
William Joseph Carter Sr., age 20, 610 Main Street Apt. E,
Waterford, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony.
Carter was arrested in Waterford by Lt. Canavan of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Mar 05 at 4:47 pm.
