On 12 Mar 05 Helena D. Riggs, age 31, 306
Colegate Drive, Marietta, reported she a friend were both assaulted
while visiting her ex-boyfriend at 27315 State Route 7 Apt.
10, Marietta. Upon his arrival Ms. Riggs informed Deputy Sheriff
Rhodes that her boyfriend Homer Hendrix III, age 32, became
combative after she broke up with him and began cursing and
slapping her, even as she tried to shove him away. When she
attempted to intervene, Mr. Hendrix also scratched the face
of Ms. Riggs’ friend when she blocked his slap. The pair
escaped the wrath of Mr. Hendrix and after a short jaunt in
Ms. Riggs’ vehicle reached safety at the Ohio Highway
Patrol post. Meanwhile, Deputy Sheriff Eddy found Mr. Hendrix
along State Route 7 and based on the investigation of Deputy
Rhodes arrested him for domestic violence and assault and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 12 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Parks issued citations
to George W. Shaffer, age 30, 9025 State Route 676, Vincent,
for driving under a suspended license and for having fictitious
registration. Deputy Parks stopped Mr. Shaffer on State Route
339 near Main Street in Waterford Township.
On 12 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes conducted
a traffic stop near mile post thirteen on State Route 7 after
observing a vehicle travel to the right of the edge line and
constantly swerve in its lane. When questioned, Christopher
W. Harris, age 24, 1620 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, confessed
to consuming six beers and performed poorly on administered
field sobriety tests. As a result, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr.
Harris for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of
travel and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 12 Mar 05 Susan Berry, age 48, 152 Radabaugh
Road, Marietta, reported when she returned home after nine
hours away she discovered muddy footprints from an unknown
source inside her home. It’s unknown at this time if
any property is missing, this case remains under investigation
(1203).
On 12 Mar 05 James S. Campbell, age 35, 555
Eyermann Road, Belpre, reported at some point during the past
three days an unknown suspect cut the lock off his storage
unit at 25 State Route 339 and removed eight new windows from
inside. This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 12 Mar 05 a fifty year old Little Hocking
resident reported her fifteen year old son left their residence
after an argument and had yet to return. On a tip, Deputy Sheriff
Stackpole tracked down the juvenile, returned him home and
issued him a summons to appear in juvenile court for being
unruly.
On 12 Mar 05 a member of Bible Baptist Church,
1575 State Route 550, Bartlett, reported a van belonging to
the church was stolen from the church parking lot around midnight.
Witnesses reported seeing a suspect leave the van in a parking
lot in Glouster where it was later recovered. This case remains
under investigation (1203).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tony Cameron Hendrickson, age 35, 124 Walnut
Street, Belpre, for felony charges of violating the terms of
his probation and domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge
of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines.
Hendrickson was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Parks
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Mar 05
at 12:20 am.
Christopher Wayne Harris, age 24, 1620 Blue Knob Road, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes
of travel, both misdemeanors. Harris was arrested on State
Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Mar 05 at 4:16 am.
Willis Virgil Thompson, age 28, 26930 State Route 7, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12
Mar 05 at 9:25 am.
Brad Lewis Parsons, age 22, 11 Goose Run Road, Marietta, failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Parsons was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 12 Mar 05 at 11:25 am.
Joseph William Crousser, age 23, 15911 State Route 550, Fleming,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Crousser turned himself in to Sgt.
Hiatt at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was
processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Mar 05 at 11:45
am.
Homer Hendrix III, age 32, 3243 Meridian Road, Columbus, for
domestic violence and for assault, both misdemeanors. Hendrix
was arrested at the Reno Motel by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Mar 05 at 9:10 pm.
