On 3 Mar 05 an individual taking photographs
of the river and railroad tracks on the Waterford side of Devols
Dam reported finding an abandoned 1989 Ford truck that was
not visible from Muskingum River Road. The truck appears to
have been stationary for an extended period of time due to
the presence of flood damage to the interior and exterior of
the vehicle. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 3 Mar 05 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole responded
to the scene of a structure fire at the residence of Jack J.
Vaughn, age 64, 2445 Bear Run Road, Newport. Deemed a total
loss, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the accidental
fire.
On 3 Mar 05 Gary A. Ford, age 52, 682 Elk
Run Road, reported he was awakened shortly after midnight by
his estranged wife who allegedly began slapping him in the
face and cursing him and his sleeping girlfriend while brandishing
a baseball bat. This case remains under investigation (1184).
The following individual
wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Paul Joseph Canfora, age 20, 593 Cassell Avenue,
Barberton, OH, for .02 underage breath OVI and for speeding,
both misdemeanors. Canfora was arrested near mile post fifteen
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Mar 05 at 4:15 am.
